Lowering spring confusion

I need to get something straight here. I was told that the same aftermarket springs (lets say S-techs) will lower an SI more than it would lower a non-SI. Is this true? Why? I need to be 100% certain before I can buy a set...

if there really made for the si then they maby actually be diff b/c the si's front is heavier so then the spring would need to be stiffer...i think...

thats what I thought too. But then if that were true, wouldnt putting SI springs on a non-SI actually raise it some?

The S-tech springs for the SI and non-SI are exactly the same (Part #: SKB14-AUB00), according to the Tein website, and they will lower the SI more.
http://www.tein.com/stech.html

I'm pretty sure it's because of the difference in weight. The SI comes in at 2877 lbs, while the non-SI manual w/navi is at 2698 lbs from msn.com.
http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/sp...ivic&trimid=-1

Since the spring rating provided by the Tein website is about 250lb/in (avg front and back), the additional 179ish lbs in extra weight of the SI will cause the springs to compress more.

I think... haha.

I dropped my car (07 SI Sedan) on progress springs. They effin slammed my car. I just ordered Tein H Techs from Tai. My tires are tucked in the wheel well. Yes they were installed right if you were going to ask. The springs are interchangable. Like people say the SI HFP kit is different for the sedan and coupe. They are interchangable and the only difference is 60 lbs. You can switch all the HFP suspension setups and they will work on all 8th gen civics. The only difference is the spring rates. I only assume this because I have never been able to confirm this.
