Remote starter kit for my Civic
I wasn't sure where I should be posting this, but I wanted to know if anyone has a remote starter kit in their Honda?
I have a 07 Honda civic sedan. I'm not sure if the Viper starter kits are compatible with my car? any suggestions or advice please? |

I got a CodeAlarm remote start/locks/trunk, in my 06 civic ex sedan. It was installed at Audio Express and I paid the extra $30 for life time trouble shooting.
It's the bottom of the line unit and I haven't had any trouble, with it. I also bought a $30 hunting dog warmer that I plug into the cig. lighter and rest it on the drivers seat. Bottom of the line seat warmer works when the car starts. |

On some systems once you hit the button to remote start, they require you to press the brake pedal after inserting the key and turning it to the on position. Or maybe that was only on systems from the past. If I still lived in the northeast, I'd definitely have one.

With my remote starter, press the button, when you are ready to go put the key in to the on position and go. If you press the button by mistake, it will only be on for 10 minutes and shuts off by itself after 10 minutes. It locks on its own. If you press the brake pedal without the key it will shut off. It also works for Si, my friend's Si has it. Just keep it on neutral.

Viper makes a remote start for manual transmissions.
There is a multi-step process that ensures that you have left the car in neutral. If you don't complete all of the steps, the remote start brain will not allow you to remote start the car, because you haven't convinced the brain that you left the car in neutral. I've wanted a remote start for sometime now however I'm very weary about anyone touching the electrical in my car, especially best buy at that after I've seen the poor work they do. Viper seems like the best system out there though, anyone have any recommendations on the best "bang for your buck" on the viper systems.

i would never let best buy "KIDS" touch any of our cars take it from someone that is in the trade! Go to your local mom and pops shops, stay with the real brands like, viper, python, avital all of these are in the same company(DEI). Compustar or prestige.
