![]() Some idiot decided it was okay to place a parking stone/brick/stopper thing in the middle of a parking lot. Didnt see it cause it was so well-blended with the ground. Drove over it, loudest goddamned scraping ever. Shop owners thought there was an accident, my passengers were scared as ish. Ran to the hardware store a block down to get some JB weld, it should hold ![]() Way to start off my Thanksgiving break. |

I posted it back in October, and posted it on facebook a few times, and also in this thread about it, and its in my signature too.
Raffle started this past Monday Also thoughts on whether to install lightweight pulleys on our cars or not?

Im not expecting to gain a lot out of the pulleys I just wanted to know if it was safe to do so, and not have the pulley affect anything in the long runs. I know that for older civics and some diff cars that pulleys aren't recommended for these various reasons. However I notice that they are quite popular with these 8thcivics. I actually already have some Ralco pulleys, just unsure if I wanna install them or not. Just going through threads here about them I get a 50/50 response to what Im looking for

Long term affects should not be much of an issue, they create less stress for acceleration, if used for looks, and just a little pep and not hammering the gas everyday it would be a nice upgrade IMO. Getting a new belt with them might be a good idea as your old belt would be worn to the old pulleys but don't think they would cause any real long term problems unless you abuse the car all the time. Again just my opinion.

Yes I do already have a new OEM belt I bought for the same reasons as you mentioned. However the same can be said with the stock components depending on how you drive. Ive read in cases where I believe they mentioned something about where the crank pulley goes that there is a dampening there, where as old cars did not have that and the engine was very unbalanced which resulting in pulleys being hazardous and they were not common. However our car's engines are very balanced which resulting in pulleys being common and why you can source them out really easily. But then again its been 50/50 and not many ppl have done a review where they had it for a few years to make a proper judgement on how it affected their car if any
