This morning otw to class. I spot a parking spot. Theres a car behind me that is following too close. So i turn to reverse into the spot and as i put it in reverse to back into the spot we collide. Im pissed cause she was following me too close and on tp of that why are you tryibg to go foward when you clearly see that im reversing into a spot. The only spot at that.its wasnt luke there was any spots on the other side i could have gone into. I obviously wasnt going to park on top of a car. !! Anyways now i need a new bumper... anyone happen to have a TW bumper. For a coupe?
Whos fault is this? If its mine then fine. Next time i be sure to put out cones before i back into a spot. But im pretty sure its hers. -____- |

It's your fault. Were you backing up slowly? How bad was the damage?

well, though i agree with u she was being stupid so its her fault... the insurance companies look at it as u failed to control your vehicle ie you hit her technically
its unfortunate, but its the way it is.. best of luck with it, could it be covered by hfp lip? i have a some scratches on my back bumper from being rearended going like 6mph.. ne ways i can never find nhbp hfp lip. ive seen plenty of TW though.. |

Er from what you wrote she hit you while you were stopped changing to reverse ?
if this is correct her fault, regardless if she hit your back bumper its almost always their fault they failed to stop and hit your rear end. |

As i was going backwards she was going forwards trying to go pass before i can reverse. She says she was stopped but by where we hit means she was "stopped" directly behind me. Blocking me from getting in?

Just tell all the "facts" about what happened to your insurance company and they will take care of the rest. It's up to you to decide who is right or wrong but you can spin your statements a certain way as the other party is sure to do as well.
Most likely it may end up in a 50/50 responsibility for both parties being at fault. |

![]() Most likely if you were reversing it's your fault. Even if she was moving forward as you reversed, you probably should have waited and waved her around you. Could be worse though, good luck. |

pics of the damage? might not be that bad..sounds like you're both going very slow..but it would be your fault. anytime you're "backing" up or into a spot..its going to be your fault..only her fault if you were at a stop

I believe its your fault. It's actually illegal to back into parking spots. The owner of the lot can have your car towed without any notice if you back it(nobody actually does that though) I always back in too. Depends on the state you live in too, I'd assume it's not in all states

Edit: So I thought about it and asked a cop buddy of mine. Usually it's posted in the lot but not a law. Diaganol parking spaces again only if posted. Last depending on jurisdictions where cars don't have front licence plates it might be illegal to back in. Why? So cops can drive through and check plates. It's hard to rear end someone who's backing into a parking spot. It's also hard to make such claim.

Yeah i just think she was way too close. If she was further back she would have seen that i was going backwards. Even tho it was sooooo obvious that that was what i was doing.. i obviously wasnt going topark in the middle of the road..But anyways im not going to file. Its not bad enough. Plus i dont want it showing up on my carfax
lol. Oh well. Lesson learned.
