yeah signal, signals ur intentions. So by the book it is the OP's fault. But yeah the other driver shouldnt have been following to closely and also should have paid some attention laying into the horn or something.
and as for someone saying its illegal to park backwards i have never heard of that. Hell during my drivers exam i had to demonstrate parking backwards. 98.9% of the time i park backwards. |

Im pretty sure the insurance co splits responsibility 50/50 if the collision happens in a parking lot. I don't no if this is all insurance co's but i believe most don't care about the details and split the blame 50/50.

Don't feel bad alisa, someone hit and ran from me when he rear ended me. Luckily I got his license plate number and called police right away and gave my statement. Found out he didn't have insurence. Court delayed two months and now I have a nice license plate indent in my rear bumper. So I think your idea is perfect with the hfp lip since I'll be doing that too. Cost is 415 to fix, didn't reach 500 deductible. New lip is 300 ish ahaha

Next time you are backing up, its better to signal so ppl behind you know what you are planning to do. I see it all the time where I am from when ppl are entering and exiting parking spots.
If the damage isnt too bad, I dont see why you need a NEW bumper. Youll just need repaint if its just a chip or scratch. And if its low enough you can just add on the HFP Lip to cover it
