Exclamation Civic Si (Vs) Accord V6 (Vs) Dodge Magnum

Okay this it is guys..

I have a Civic LX and I am tired of the fact ppl want to race me on the streets thinking my ride has power.. The benifit with the Civic Coupe is it automatically gets the appearance its an absolute sports car regardless of the model you got.. However appaernetly except from the Si, the other models are just eco boxes..

Now I want your feedback... In a few years I hope to trade in my car. I just wanted to know which you would rank from most fastest to slowest in terms of a quick sprint from a traffic light to over take somebody..

2 Door Civic Si = 197 Hp with 140 Torque (keep in mind this car is almost half the wieght of the Accord and Magnum)
2 Door Accord V6 = 244 Hp with 211 Torque

Dodge Magnum SXT = 250 HP, 3.5L V6.

Please rrank in order.. the Civic Si is approx 26K, Accord V6 is approx 31 and magum is approx 31K also.. (Canadian dollars)

Your feedback is much aprpeciated..
And very lastly, has anbydoy with an Si been able to race anybody and outbeat them? caz with my eco box I am just dam scared to race sombody caz I know it just wont cough out enough power...

well what happened was i was at a traffic light and this due in the altima knew I had to cut to the next lane in order to get on the highway.. so being the male hormones we have, I floored it at the traffic light and I was just neck to neck to him.. He had a 4 Cylinder i belive.. It annoyed me that I wished I had been able to pass him to show Honda Power up his ass. Anyhow I just want to know for these uniqite instances that I have a powerful car and dont ask me why.. b/c its a man thing.. anyhow can you please give me your suggeswtions... I LOVE THE CIVIC way BETTER THAN ACCOrd, more fun to drive and more better on handling, however I am not sure the Si Can take out the 4 Cyc Accord and if it can, can it give sme stiff competiton ot the V6 Accord ?

Also Is there a huge difference in Si Power from a LX Coupe to Si ? or is it just marginal... ?

A minute ago I THOUGHT I was reading this thread and saw a link to a website that estimated track times with certain horsepower. Wanted to check it out but dad shut the modem off and now I can't find it.. or have I lost my mind?

Where have you been? YES There is a huge difference in power from the SI and LX. It's not just marginal. The EX on the other hand is pretty neck and neck...
(just kidding...don't go all crazy on me guys! :)

I did however hang pretty well with a 2004 Civic SI (with at least intake and exhaust on his ride, not sure if anything else). It was a short strip of road, not conjested and at the light he told me he thought my ride was an SI until at that moment when he saw my EX rims. I told him all I had was an intake and he was pretty surprised.

I have driven a manual sedan (I have an Si) and the difference in power is very noticeable. I would say the Si feels the 50% more powerful than it is, if not more (maybe due to shorter gearing?). 0-100mph for the Si is probably much closer to a V6 accord than a 4 cyl altima or accord or civic.

Mods just move this thread to the SI thread. This category is for non-SI's

I'm gonna rate them:

1) SI
2) Accord (auto right?)
3) Magnum

.......now if you race a Magnum with one of the 2 bigger engines available in that car, you'd really be in trouble

I haven't driven the new accord yet but I doubt its going to be as tossable as the civic. You might be a hair faster (1-1.5 seconds faster to 60) but that's not going to solve your problem. You will be stuck in the same situation with a BMW 335i, Lexus is350, or a G35coupe and you are going to want more. What will you do then? Upgrade to a M3? Even with the M3 you won't be able to beat a rival safely by couple car length to get on the on ramp. Just slow down and tuck behind him, trust me, your life will be much better. I have a 08 M3 coming my way this winter but if i am in the same situation as you I will tuck behind your civic and get on the freeway safely.

If you want ranking I pick
Si over Accord V6 and no way in hell the magnum... what in the world were you thinking

Magnum 3.5L is quicker than the previous gen Civic SiR hatchback. I know from experience at the track.

Here is the order in which I would go in your circumstance:
  1. Si
  2. Si
  3. Si
  4. Accord
  5. Radio Flyer
  6. bobsled
  7. horse drawn carriage
  8. Dodge Magnum

that's just good times, but the bobsled would have to be moved between the si and the si. Something that goes that fast on ice?!? winner.
Anyways, I personally love the ex v6 accord coupe, so if I had to list it would be Accord coupe, si coupe, then magnum. I see what you like in the magnum, but it's a dodge and I would never own a dodge as a daily driver. I would love to have a straight-line srt4 to take to the track.. but I would hate to have one as a point a-b car.

If I could get a good deal on a used accord coupe (03+), I would take it in a heart beat.

Could also partially be because it's slightly underrated...

Hmm....the Bobsled and the Dodge Magnum have the same problem:

They're fast in a straight line. Just hope you don't have to make a turn in a race.....

Same deal with the Dodge Ram SRT-10. Who doesn't like essentially a $50k Viper?!?!

... but that is off topic, back to the Magnum
