6,000 mile service?

Just got a letter from my dealer trying to suggest I take my LX sedan in for a "6,000 mile service." Is this anything more than an oil change? Also, the maintenance minder in my car hasn't done anything, should I bother or is this just the dealer trying to get my money?

6000 mile service?

When in doubt, read the owners manual.

I had it done, they didn't send me a letter I just went in around 7k for an oil change and they suggested the whole service. I forgot all of what they did, oil, all the other fluids, checked the other systems, brakes, etc. & and I talked them into new wiper inserts. Total came to $100 plus CT tax.

There is no such thing as a "6000 mi service." It is merely another conspiracy by shady dealerships to boost their service dept. profits by encouraging owners to follow the dealership's overkill, "fixed" maintenance schedule instead of following the Maintenance Minder.

Follow the Maintenance Minder for all of your maintenance needs, though I personally replace my ATF a bit more often than recommended given Honda's past transmission problems.
