It seems that no matter how I drive it, I am getting about 33 MPG. I am honestly doing mostly around town driving. I kept it on the highway already on a long trip and I did get the advertised 38 MPG. This car is great.

Sorry man, that's total BS. If someone spins their tires enough because of snow and ice on the road to affect their mileage, bad mpg is the last thing they have to worry about. Mileage goes down in the winter because of reformulated gas, longer warm-up cycles, and cold intake air. Furthermore, the biggest effect on your mileage is your driving style. I can take ANY car, under ANY conditions, and get better gas mileage than some people get in their Civic. Read up; you can start here http://www.lubedev.com/smartgas/quickies.htm

thats a good read.. so if im in canada, in the late spring, summer and early fall, i should be using thicker oil.. in winter.. slightly thinner oil.. for best gas mileage...

how credible is that website. is the writer reliable? do they have proof of their 'test car' doing 60mpg? any websites? books? etc....

You're on your own on everything you read on that, and every other website. I have been through the entire site over the past few years. I will say that their claims regarding acetone and warm air intakes improving fuel efficiency have been substantiated by myself on four of my cars over a 2 year period. I don't try to convince others, because frankly, it ain't worth it. I would just as well be the only one using it, and everyone else can do what they want. As far as the thickness oil to use, I don't buy it because I have seen no proof, ESPECIALLY when they try to sell me something in the same breath. I have used a synthetic in the mfgr recommended grade for 30 years, and I'm more than content with it.

No,, it works out good. I have great line of sight from the tach to the SG on to the speedo pod. The SG1 is one of the uglyist hunks of auto tool Ive even seen myself. I will get a SGII when data logging is in them. Untill then I will use my hunk of auto ugly.

POOR GAS MILEAGE

2006 Civic Sedan LX automatic just did first oil change at 7,500 miles, was getting 28 mpg before, now getting 28 mpg. What the heck is this about? I bought this car because of the sticker saying 30mpg city to 40mpg highway. Who do I direct my lawsuit at, Honda Motor Company or the Dealership? I would have bought a bigger car like an Accord or Camry and could this kind of mileage and have alot more room. I had a Honda Odyessy that never ever got close the the mileage stated on the sticker. I'm not going to take this laying down. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike:Mad:
