Worst = 31.5mpg
Best = 39mpg Mpg = miles driven divided by gallons of fuel used Method = 1) Fill Tank, 2) set trip meter, 3) drive car, 4) fill tank again, 5) note miles on trip meter, 6) divide miles on trip meter by gallons used on second fill up |

My local driving runs around 40% highway. I'm averaging between 31 and about 33.5 mpg with that depending. My low tank so far is 30.5 and the highest I've gotten on a trip was 39.9 mpg, obtained with a nice tail wind the whole way, just couldn't quite squeek that last tenth of a mpg.

I started out getting arond 21-25 in the early mileage. 7000+ miles later it's gone up to an average 26mpg nearly all city.
best I've got was 38mpg; 300mile highway trip, cruised at 70 with no AC |

So far my best is 30 mpg and average between 26 and 27. This is city driving with no ac and windows down 80% of the time. I think its about fair considering the way i drive. Oh yea 2007 LX coupe MT.

Us R-18 owners need to get after Hondadata to do a lean burn mod for our ECU. I drive for mpg alot. Have a 43 mpg life time average on my Civic.
We took a 150 mile trip in the civic over the holiday. In the rain, low 40'sf, little wind. Mostly hwy with some small town driving and a trip thru a garden of lights show at a public park. Drove 5 mph under the posted speed limit and only used load driving and got 42 mpg. |

I think I just need to gain more miles to get better mpg as NOW have 3600,, I think once you get around 8k mi the mpg goes up... I still resent getting a 22.3 mpg tank... thats just uncalled for.. even if I were to burnout at every light... a car that should get 30mpg all city should not be getting 25% under its estimated mpg...

It never even sees above 3500 rpm, Its an auto, and ive been using 87 octane since the beginning. Im thinking of installing a wideband to see what kind of A/F ratio this thing s in running at under WOT and normal driving conditions. :Mad: |

I was thinking maybe we could tap into whatever electrical line that goes active when VTEC is active and have it turn on a small LED in the dash or something. The trick is figuring out what circuit to use. Having read a number of these threads about R18's returning poor economy, I've also been wondering if those car's are ever seeing the economy mode in VTEC. If VTEC isn't working for some reason, I'm not sure that would throw a CEL. It would depend on what the nature of the problem is. Just a thought! I'm not that electronically minded so anyone care to take a stab at that one? ![]() Drive Safe, Steve R. |
