Unhappy used civic lx for used Si

i went out to the dealerships yesterday to try and trade in my 06 lx wid 5100 miles on it for a black si wid 4100 miles (hfp kit and rims).. and they wanted 22k for the si before taxes.. and i guess i when i went they said the banks were closed. So they asked me for my contract, so they can see the numbers of my loan or something like that. So i went home and gave it to them, and they said they will give me the numbers on how much everything will be, and its that they now, and they still havnt called me back. But i called them and they said that they are still working on it, they said its kinda hard since i just got my car almost 2 months ago. Is that true? is it that hard to get an approval with a trade in? and i put 5000 down on my lx, so i was thinkin part of that 5k would go towards the Si right? well thats what i heard, and the guy was asking me if i would be able to put another 5k down? and im like naw i just put 5k down on the lx almost 2 months ago. What do you guys think? are they just giving me the run down or what? please help.. i really want this Si but i dont want to get my hopes up or down.. so yea.. please help!!

why would you want a used si for 22k when u can get a new one for just over 20k. research some more and get quote from other dealers. check out dbhonda.com, they have an si for 20,840 w/c i'm sure is still negotiable. remember, invoice price of si w/o navi is 19,298 & w/ navi is 20,895. but i don't think anyone is capable of getting it at invoice right now coz these cars are hot.

we're on the same situation, man. i'm tryn to get out of my lx i bought last september for an si. my problem is i have a 3300 negative on my previous car w/c they added up on my lx (w/ 3k downpayment). now, the dealership is tryn to tell me i need at least 4k to offset the negative that i have on my lx, but they can definitely put me on a rr si for around 440/mo.

don't let the dealership fool you on this one. remember, you are the boss and they are your bitches. you should be the one in-charge and not them. prepare to walk away if u feel you're not getting a fair deal.

No way - get a new one. I traded my 06ex coupe for an SI. I got the si with navi for MSRP 22,840 plus destination. Shop around more. Get a new one.
I would not buy a used SI anyway. No telling how the guy or girl drove it!

If your credit is good and you have equity in your LX assuming you do since you put 5K down you would be able to trade with no money down.

I also dont think u will be seeing ur 5k down payment that you put on ur lx. that money was for the lx so it wont transfer over to the si. keep shopping around though i wouldnt take that deal. please be smart about this and dont let ur excitement over getting a si mess up ur financial record. just dont get ahead of urself. wait for the best deal you can get.

I was thinking of trading my Lx for an Si about 2 months ago when i drove in front of the dealership and i saw a silver Si in the lot. but then i thought about it for a while, i put a 7k deposit on my LX and been doing the payments on time, right now i own like 10 on it.

If i had traded my LX for the Si the money difference will had been something like 6 to 7k more. So i decided not to, am just waitting now for a turbo kit for my civic and will be way faster then a stock Si

I think you should do the same specially since you have bad credit.

Next car i will probably get will the new model civic Si(when they come out maybe in 2010)

Crossing my fingers for you as well. I hope this new dealership doesn't try to rape you like your old dealership did!

i think u should be happy things are going your way... consider your lx as a rental and go get yourself co-signer or something.
