The transmission doesn't mater for an intake. The years 06-09 are all the same engine, so it should and will work.

That's what I figured, but I could have sworn I saw a (manual only) note on one of them I was looking at.

Now to decide which one to get.

Many intakes for our engines may say "manual only" but I believe its only because the company only test fitted it to a manual tranny. They don't want to advertise it as both when they are not sure if it fits of not. Many members here, including myself have been successful at installing intakes on an automatic with no fitment issues, and like you said...just gotta pick which one you like.

Our header is built into the block, the pipe connected to the engine is actually just the cat extended to the downpipe, etc.

correct me if i'm wrong

No correction needed. Best way to think of it is the R18 has its exhaust manifold cast into the head. It can't be removed like on basically any other motor ever made. There is no such thing as a header for these cars. Some sellers sell a bent piece of pipe so you can bypass the cat, for marketing purposes they call it a header. For any other motor this same piece would be called a 'test pipe' or 'cat bypass pipe'.

Very unfortunate honda did it like this. You can tell they obviously had no n/a R18 performance in mind. The design even precludes the possibility of having any port work done to the exhaust ports.

Basically, they wanted to market aand design a strictly fuel economy car baseline and if you want performance, you have to go for the more beefy SI. Its their current market scheme...

Great list dude! I'm glad I actually went thru and read all these posts too. Since joining here i've learned so much more. So from what I read would purchasing and installing downpipes, header, and intake manifold be a waste of time/money?

They don't exist. You will have to have everything custom fabricated.
