No not all Honda's have it. I'm not going to go into all the cars, so I'll just stick with civic's. Civic first had VTEC in '92, but only the EX and the occasional Si model had the VTEC engine. The LX and DX models never had VTEC until this generation of civics. There was also a model called the HX - it was a super gas saver version, my aunt has one and gets 50 MPG - this one in it's early stages did not have VTEC, but just a different cam profile and tranny, later they got a VTEC-e engine. In 2001, the EX and HX both got VTEC-e engines (althoguh the HX was less powerful), and later the SI came out. This generation (the 2006+) is the first time that the civic EX has had the same engine as the LX/DX.

On a diferent note, the '99-'00 Si was the first civic to have DOHC, and since every Si has had DOHC.

Also, this info only applies to US/Canada civics, other civics throughout the world have had various toher engines

You're WRONG if you're talking worldwide.

The first Si's had a 130hp DOHC ZC back in 89 (JDM). The Si-R's had a 160 hp B16 DOHC VTEC. Forgot what the Si-R II's had. (JDM) ... think it was a B16A2

The DX-G is a Canadian model. It's basically the DX with a few extra conveniences. Think of it as kind of a special edition Civic, if there were one.

But, here anyway, the DX is the lowest end there is for civic. Is that different in Canada?
