I don't think you will hurt the car with a CAI in the winter, except some extra cold air :)

The only I have ever done with having a CAI is Rain! Rain sucks when all the CAI does when u hit a puddle is suck up all the water!!! Bad News... You can potentially hydrolock your engine!!! Not a good thing. I have ran over some puddles in my days with my eclipse and it has killed the motor to where there was no air to suck so my car stops going till it drys out....

CAI in winter is fine.. Just watch out for big puddles! There might be other issues.. but Hyrdolocking is #1!!!!!

i dont think the snow is gonna cause any damage to the CAI or your engine cus its really just small bits of ice...but wet snow....i dont think it would go into the engine because of the filter but the cold air might freeze it but i think you'll only freeze a portion of it, not the whole filter.

I really wouldn't worrry about the Snow... Unless you crashed into a mound of snow and you let it melt into a pool and then you gave your car a little go then you might have probs!! INjen!!! DO IT

You could get a hydro shield which is water repellant. Not perfect but it should help with all the small puddles.

thanks for the replies guys...i thaught also about the snow going on filter...but since its a filter, and would melt, i would really have to be driving IN a snow mountain to have enough snow to melt to have enough water to go trough lol...which is kinda retarted ! so conclusion CAI is safe in winter, as long as you dont act stupid with snow mountains...

our buddy webby ( ?) has made it clear hydrolocking is not an issue unless you are inundating your car in water, not from fly - by puddles.

I can't wait to see how much more go the car has in the winter with my CAI. I've felt snappier response on cold days, so it should be even more pronounced in the winter.

I agree. I love driving at night when the temps hit 8-10 degrees. You can feel the air change when you step on the accelerator and the response is crazy.

I wonder how it'll feel in those -30 temps, ha.
