Chris: You probably do a lot more city/town driving than me. You have to look at the type of driving you do compared to others.
After the first 80-100mi. 95% of the miles were all highway. I have an 80mi. commute each way, 160mi./day! That makes a big differnce in gas mileage.

You 're probably in stop & go traffic on Rt.59 or Rt.303. Don't forget you 're sorrounded by 2 Malls! I 'm originally from New City. Moved up north 1 county to Orange so I wouldn't have to pay $500K - 700K for a house.

i dont like the coupes or the sedans. They seem to be less appealing to the younger crowd, everyone i know doesnt like them, too roundish and high, now when i see pics of them lowered they look good but i just dont like the overall look of the 8th gens, the SI looks pretty good and so does the SI sedan, those are the only two 8th gens i would actually drive....7thgen for life!!!

I have really nothing to complain really. The only two things is the head rest, when I have my hair up ... its hard to sit back.

Second, there's this rattling noise coming out of my driver side door and I took everything out of it and it still rattles. When I turn the music up loud, you can hear it rattle so yeah, but that's not a problem really.

Yes, the head rest! I can't get used to it. It leans forward a lot and does not allow you to lean your head back, not even a little. That's a good one. I forgot about that.

I also had a rattle for the first 600-700mi. near the passenger door. It 's gone now and hope it doesn't come back. Sometimes you get a rattle or two when cars are new (most times you don't) but most of them go away after everything settles, not always though.

Heeheee...where do i begin? the 8th SI looks nearly identical to the others. the SI sedan doesn't even exist yet.

Dood, I'm glad you're enjoying your earlier model, but it would never occur to me to crash the 7thgen boards just to say I don't like the looks of the 7th gens. I think you've got some form of civic envy going on. We all have great engines...we're on the same team. Drive safe.

As for the head rests being too forward, you just need to adjust your seat to recline a bit. I have it adjusted so that I get plenty of lower back support but my head doesn't touch the headrest unless I consciously put my head back. Don't forget, the seat is fully adjustable and can recline and move up and down. There is no reason to be uncomfortable if you just take a few minutes to make the adjustments that are best for you.

SEriously, get off that bias. You're saying how you like the 06 SI but the not the others yet they all look identical (minus the spoiler and SI badge).

Nope I said that, I did not like the look of any civic at all ontil the 06 came out, must have been the new lighting and body or i would have never bought it at all

that can happen with any car. I had a friend that had it happen on his VW Jetta...nothing to do with going cheap on the paint...its just what eggs can do.

I also want to throw in my complaint about the scratching of the interior. I'm still looking for a way to repair it (around the bottom of the door - foot; and side pillar - seat belt).

Has anyone found a solution yet?

Gas cap holder...

hummmmm, have to say a gas cap holder, always worry ill scratch the paint

You do know there's a gas cap holder built into the gas-filler door, right?
See your owners manual.

You can hang the gas cap on this little half-circle that's part of the inside of the gas filler door...

I feel weird coming into this so late in the complaining. I don't like the brakes. They are touchy its like either you're going or stopped there is no slowing down its just STOP! and they creak if you try to stop slowly. Also because of the vast depth of the dash board i find it hard to tell where the nose of the car is. other than those, no complaints.

The only solution I found so far is to wipe it every so often with a wet paper towel.

As for my gripe with the Civic is the blind spot in the coupe.... TERRIBLE
but changing the rearview mirror did help a lot. Another thing is I noticed how the Civic coupe takes forever to defrost in the morning compared to my 2003 Corolla....

I don't like the fact that the car is very low in the front. I scrape the front all the time pulling in out of the driveway, etc. Also, on long trips the seats are uncomfortable for me. They're a bit hard.

does anyone know why there are so many blind spots on the new civics? is it a trade off for safety(bigger, stronger pillars)? the front a-pillars look like they are 3 times the thickness as my 6th gen civic, which really had no big blind spots.
