Thats great.

Sux that the VIS hood you need hoodpins though. Doesnt seem like anyone with the Seibon is running pins......

They post that as a disclaimer. You don't NEED hood pins although it certainly wouldn't hurt to have them. The hoods you'd need hoodpins for are those that don't have the OEM style latch.

yea they just post that as a disclaimer to save their asses from lawsuits. I had a VIS hood, drove cross country with it and never had a prob without hoodpins. They also make some seriously quality stuff. I've never had seibon before though so I dunno if their as good or better than them

Yeah I assumed it was a liability thing since it does say the same thing on Seibons site.

So jc21 you were happy with the fit and finish of the VIS hood you had?

Doesn't seem very useful, considering the hoods are extremely small and already really light, stock!

i wonder how the shipping will be

all about safety..your hood is lighter...easier to fly off lol

i've heard stories guys without hoodpins driving the hwy and the CF hood pops up and flys away....tru or not i'd get the hood pins

beautiful fit and finish. they really do make some quality stuff. I went over it with a fine tooth comb and never found one bubble or anything like that. I was lucky ang got a deal on it for $300. The one for my car used to cost 600 so im assuming the price for the civic will be around 500-600.

Great find. I wonder how much a CF hood + trunk (4dr) would run me. Sounds kind of impractical (performance-wise) to shell out a grand for that when I spend the grand elsewhere... cat back.. maybe header.

If they are "official" VIS products they will have a little VIS label riveted directly into the CF. All the products I got from them had them even a CF trunk for one of my other cars.

Here's a list of "unofficial" prices that I can help members here get. I have a friend over there who I keep in touch with in case my other "VIS product threads" weren't a tip off.

Prices:

OEM CF Coupe Hood: $365

OEM CF Sedan Hood: $365ish (last I talked to him they hadn't finalized a price since they were just getting it in, but I expect it to be about the same since both hoods are almost the same size).

OEM CF trunk: $400-$420

Shipping via ground freight:
$115ish in West Coast to $140ish to East Coast. Final shipping price varies, (but not by much) depending on area, and business vs. residential address

Products currently in development:

Si OEM CF spoiler with integrated LED. Pricing @ $250

CF motorized side mirrors (unknown if they will have LED sidemarkers yet) - Price to be determined. Maybe in the $200-$300 range.

CF fender panels for the coupe (OEM plus one other design)

Mugen (Dominator) style CF spoiler

Local pick up will always be a plus as you will save on shipping and only have to cover state tax. If anyone is interested in getting something with them send me a PM and I'll help you get a good deal.

Might drive down there just to get it due to high shipping prices. for sedan hood, trunk, and dominator spoiler.
