my fiji blue all motor, year 1 build

after waiting for months doing research on which parts to use and budgeting half of my tax return for this year, i was finally able to buy and install parts that would help me reach my goal of building an all motor 07 fa5 with 250 hp at the crank. my goal is to use just the k20 and whatever bolt-ons/mods i can slap on myself, no FI at this point cuz thats all that i can afford at the moment. to top it off, i havent decided what car its gonna be lol. also the car's gonna look stock except for a few aesthetic mods (interior/exterior). ok no more rambling. pics! 56k FAILS!!!

some before pics.

with the 05-06 dc5-s rims wrapped in nexen n3000 summer tires. 91W rated for better stability and ride.

the vibrant catback. put on yesterday with the fa5 adapter clamped for now cuz i havent been able to make it to a welding place yet. (no leaks though).

then the injen sri which was put on today after work.

tomorrow after work is the p2r TBS in red with 2 gaskets. also i have the red jdm emblems but i was only able to install the rear one because when cutting off the tabs i dropped the front on the ground by accident and dented it. ill take pics but in my anger i buried the thing in a box but ill dig it up and post em up. so now im running with the black front H and the jdm rear H. lol. i fail at life. to be updated when parts arrive.

also the combination of the vibrant catback and the injen sri is RIDICULOUSLY LOUD but not ricey. very deep and grumbly roar. ill post a vid when i can. but for now ill be ing my way to graduation parties. lol. heres to hoping i dont get pulled over. i found that revving only up to 3k keeps the engine relatively subdued. i guess this is a way to help gas economy. hahaha.

thanks to solo's diy on the emblems, bill's exhaust install, injen's pretty good instructions, and iomatic's p2r diy (for sunday!).

UPDATE!

p2r TBS (red) + gaskets finally installed on friday. the weather kept me from doing anything. stupid rain. cleaned the engine bay a bit too. ordered the NST pulleys today and now just waiting on the ingalls ETD which was modded for the pulleys as well. will update when its on. but right now, the car feels like its pulling better. good midrange and a little bit better on the low end.

yea i figured 250 whp is gonna be a lot of work. when my 600 comes in from the gov ill be getting the NST pulley kit. then next year when the tax mooch comes in ill be getting the reflash and maybe headers but i gotta find a way to quiet it down a bit cuz right now its too loud for my liking.

what the hell is 56k ?

other than 56,000

and quick question.....
if you plan on reaching 250hp, why wouldn't you get a CAI instead of SRI? i mean, if you're gonna shoot for the moon, you don't crawl there

56k modems. yes they still exist.

no cai for me because i live in a heavy rain/big puddle area and i dont wanna take the risk of hydrolocking. to each his own. besides if you do research, the difference in HP between a CAI and SRI is miniscule. and if you argue heatsoak, that topic's been much debated already.

well, it's like a 4 or 5hp difference, which is enough for me

and injen makes this awesome hydroshield that will prevent hydrolocking

no no. it WILL NOT prevent hydrolocking. it'll REPEL small amounts of water but when submerged like in most cases of hydrolocking, itll still suck up liquids like a drunk sorority chick.
