civic ex R18 radio display intermittent

I have a 2007 EX with premium radio and the display is going blank. Usually after the radio has been on for a while. (ie half way to work, black screen, then manages to come back on by the time I reach work). No bac, or LED display. does not appear to be anything loose under the dash, as bumps have no effect. while the display is 'blank=black" the radio works perfectly, but you cannot see modes/stations/time or anything. This started a month or so ago and is getting progressively worse.
I was interested to know if anyone else had this problem. I also realize that this will be covered under warrantee, BUT it has to NOT be working when I bring it to the dealer. Usually when you restart the vehicle all displays work as normal, and of course, they are not going to admit to anything

thanks for any info.

bob

Actually video would be better. Take a video of it, showing the vehicle running and that the display isn't on. Make sure that you get it at a good angle so the LCD isn't washed out. Another good idea would be to show the radio in the problem state, then restart to car to show it working again.

Good luck!

Why is this in Canada west? should be in the I.C.E. section?

because I live in Vancouver and have a Canadian R18, with Canadian Radio and I have been to a meet and greet and thought it was better to ask people whom I may have met before, rather than get replies from all over the US of A. I also tried to find if anyone else had this problem but the only reference to blank displays were on Accords from 2004.

also the Cdn radio is different software from the US models, we cannot change the welcome greeting

thanks, and also thank you for the video suggestion

I was able to change the welcome greeting in my 2007 EX Coupe. Are you sure about that?

i am discounting the loose fuse as the radio doesn't miss a beat, even on uneven roads. when the display blanks out, i even try to 'Bang' the dash, but does nothing. then on a smooth section of Kingsway the back light and digital display comes back on like magic, but at indeterminate times

thanks,

bob

I believe that the Welcome greeting can be changed on the Si, but not on the EX . appears to be the same radio, but something is different

thanks,
bob

EDIT: smatts, I see that you also have a '07 EX, I'll check my manual again. When I originally got the car I tried to change the Welcome greeting, and the instructions didn't work
