CSX owner feedback
Hey guys,
So I'm curious about the CSX. What are your driving impression of it? Does it feel exactly like the R18 sedan with slightly more power? If you've driven both a R18 Civic sedan and a CSX, how do they compare? From what I remember they handled a little bit different, but that was quite awhile ago. Any regrets at all? Why am I asking? Part curiosity, part "I miss my Civic" syndrome... part "I don't really need a TL" ![]() Post up... Last edited by DigitalAnalog; 03-04-2008 at 12:42 PM. Reason: clarification |

i've driven the r18 coupe + sedan, and the csx (swapped with 604csx for a night haha) and i have to say the csx definetly has more "umph" to it. Its comes iwht more features inside too, like leather seats, 6cd changer and paddleshift (if yer going AT). its hard to compare it to a stock coupe though ...because i dont remember how it rides
although i'd try to save up some extra and fork out for a FA5 ![]() |

It depends on how you want to compare. If you want to compare it in term of performance, CSX is just lack of power compare to Si and CSX-S but decent enough to smoke other cars in the same class.
In term of luxury and options, this car is very smooth and nice small luxury car to drive. It has leather heated seats, climate control, OEM Navi with voice activated (Premium Navi), stock HID, nice rims IMHO, and of course JDM look... If you're curious about it, we can arrange a mini meet since I drive CSX or you can come the combined meet between CSX and Civic. personally, I never drive R18 and civic si so I cannot say how to compare both car. |

Well, I remember when I wanted to buy a car, Civic and Mazda3 are my choices. Tried R18 EX and don't like it *sorry guys* and love Mazda3 until I found CSX. I decided to get CSX for the options and the engine. Too bad CSX-S came out in 2007 while I bought my car in 2006.

Test drove one this evening.
The handling felt pretty similar, I'm not sure if it's actually any better. The power difference is readily apparent and they sound nothing like. The R18actually sounds better in some ways... the K20A3 is really buzzy but sounds decent as well. Shifter feels more direct and the gears ratios seem to be closer making the engine feel peppier. However, near the limit, it's just as out of breath as the R18. Apparently the K20A3 doesn't flow very well at high rpm. As commented on above, the steering does feel different. The Civic's steering feels decently stiff on the hwy, but the electronic assist on the CSX makes it really twitchy and a bit too light. I didn't feel as connected to the road. It wasn't horrible, just a very odd sensation. Overall, it has it's quirks, but I like it. It's even got VSA, on the base model. Pretty cool! |
