Small Crack on the Windshield

Well, this is my 1st time getting a cracked windshield. The damage is about 5mm in diameter. I've been doing some research and it seems that you can buy self-repair kits from a local auto store for $15. Has anyone had experience with this? Would you recommended?

Another alternative is to bring it in to a professional. How much would it cost and where to in Vancouver?

5mm = not worth it - if it grows, then yes - but if not, not worth the $50 it costs to fill at apple auto glass... 5mm is teenie tiny (unless its alll the way through)
i wouldn't trust a DIY kit - if you need to get it filled (to stop any future cracks), $50 at apple or wherever will do the job

Sleepy's corrupt alternative would be a hammer and 200 bucks to get it replaced once it spidered a little to much.

I would get it fixed at an auto shop for the $50 so it's done right. If you don't get it done it's going to crack as soon as we have a cold snap and then you will have to get your windshield replaced and thats a hell of a lot more money.

In Vancouver the cost to replace a windshield is 200 bucks, that is what my insurance tells me anyway. I have not thankfully had to replace mine yet.

my family usually gets it fixed at MG collision on bridgeport road in richmond for about $50 i think. and its guaranteed not to crack anymore after its fixed otherwise they will replace your windshield for free.. i think? ask them about that though.
and the sooner you fix it, the less visible the crack would be after the repair ( due to dust and dirt getting in)
IMO, get it fixed. or it'll spread across your windshield and u would have to fork up at least $200
