I know of the company .. as it is the only Ontario place I beleive that you can get the Hondata from. What I can tell you is this... its up to you but if you got to them you will pay them ... they send it out ..to the USA from what ive been told .. then they send it back. So .. it would be better to just buy it direct from Hondata. Waranty is void once you do this .. Honda doesnt recomend it.. however if you swapped anothr one back in im sure it wouldnt be noticed unless you peg the RPMs over Honda factory redline and blow the engine...ive been thinking about doing this since I got the car .. and if anyone has it done please let me know how much of a difference it really is.

You were right about everything except the last part. If you swap another ECU back in then another VIN number will show. Each time your car goes in for any engine warranty reasons they'll plug in a small computer and if your VIN doesn't show your warranty will be void right away.
so what you CAN do .. is get another ecu.. then toss it to hondata.. and use that one.. but each time before you bring your car in to the dealership you'll have to swap back your stock ecu

There is no point in doing hondata unless you have ATLEAST intake, header, exhaust done
and yeah.. the place in sauga is the only place that does hondata in ontario. they are reliable. and since they do have to send it down to the states you are paying for the shipping charges both back and forth as well.

Yeah for some reason I don't think there's gonna be a K pro, think about it the car's been out for over 2 years now and they still don't have anything, you would think they would have something by now. Don't get me wrong I want K pro since I'm going FI very soon but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

I had no idea that the vin was on the ecu. This is a good thing to know .. I apreciate it. I thought if I do this ... ill just grab another one off ebay of something .. but ya that kinda sucks. This car needs a cheap way to get another 30-40 hp out of it.. for under $1000.00 if anyone knows how let me know !! I guess the reflash is still the best way to go at the moment. Reflash, Header, Downpipe, Catback, Intake .. still way over $1000 though.

another thing to let you know with the ecu is that when you get another one with a different VIN you will have to flash it to the key so like Dmc said get a another ecu keep your stock one and when you send in the other one your gonna have to send a key with it anyways so they can flash it and as well they can match the immobilizer to your key.

just a heads up i was reading that K-pro will be available but it is not gonna be realeased for a little bit longer. as for the RSX-S it came about after about 3 years, plus i would rather wait for at least 2 versions of K-PRO to come out before i eve revert to getting it. just my 2 cents

There's always nitrous, A decent setup will still be under $1000.00 and way over 220whp depending on how extreme you wanna go
