08 Si or 04 TL???

I'm having a hard time deciding between whether to lease an 08 Si coupe for 3 or 4 years, or put $xxxx down and finance the rest for a used 04 TL. I know they're 2 completely different cars. Help persuade me either way.. thanks.

I personally would go with the 04 TL. Insurance will probably be a hair cheaper on it, it's a nicer/more comfortable ride for the daily grind, and it won't attract so much attention from the police when you're running late for class/work/girlfriend/etc. Usually I wouldn't say that because I'd rather have a new car over a used car any day of the week, but 9 out of 10 tl's weren't owned by kids that wanted to rag the thing out so I wouldn't be too worried about it.

The insurance difference is a wash because of the difference in gas. I agree that overall the Tl is the nicer car... but it will be used. Another problem for me is that I won't buy an auto Tl... must be manual... so my selection is limited. The interior is much nicer in the Tl, but the exterior I give an edge to the Si.

Well when it comes down to it you see the interior of your car more than you see the exterior. Plus, if you ever decide to modify (cosmetic) the tl is gorgeous when modified tastefully.

To be honest, I wouldn't even consider an rsx-s. I'm not saying that I don't like them at all, because I actually love them and think that they're awesome cars.. But they are just too expensive to buy used with low miles, a lot of times they're more expensive than a new si. There are just too many other cars that could be had in that price range over a used rsx-s.. Hell, you could spend $10k more and get a used nsx! You know you want to..

How is the Si exterior > TL exterior?

TL is frickin sexy.

Test drive them both. Decide from there.

NO WAY !!!! Dude no offense to the RSX but, its a ricer of a car, every kid now owns one its become the Integra of past generations when I see one done up I just laugh.

The body style, the giant wing and all just says boy racer. Trust me when I say .. I would decide on these cars and never even bring an RSX up

Civic Si / Acura TSX / Acura RSX / Honda Accord Coupe

In terms of the price of gas and insurance, insurance on everything but the Civic will be cheaper ... and trust me .. if you have a TL/TSX/Accord gas will be cheaper because you wont be pushing on it as much. Once you drive an Si the car is set up to race wether people like it or not. I get in the car and it screams to be driven. A TSX/TL/Accord wants you to drive slow and enjoy the confort. I would go with a TSX.. almost same engine as SI cheap on gas .. without the racer feel .. more luxury !!! or .. just buy a Lexus is350 !!! mmmmmmm that car is sooo sexy .. and cheaper then a TL by far !!

I agree with half of this post.. You will be less likely to push a tsx/tl as much as you would a dc5 or fg2, that's for sure, but it probably won't save you much on gas because of it. The tsx has higher a displacement and the highest cr in the k24 lineup, which means that it would probably about break even with the fg2 in gas consumption.

As far as the dc5 being a "ricer," I would call an evo or sti a ricer long before I did a stock dc5. I personally would rather have a dc5 over an fg2, just because I'm a k20a2 fan and I love the body of the dc5. :shrugs:

Just remember that the TL is already 4 years old, and possibly out of warranty and it will be more costly to repair.

+1, unless you buy a certified preowned, but then you'd be talking about a lot of coin there.

I am not big for used cars, and the Si is bang for the buck!

My vote goes for the Si sedan. This way you get the 4 doors that the TL offers, but the warranty of a new car.
