Well for instance, where I live we are under water restrictions. Therefor we can only wash our cars at car wash area's or be fined. They allow us to wash one day a week at a certain time and if you are busy or work during that time you are screwed. Which results in people going to car washes and in my case having to bring my own products. Lately though ive just been doing it at my house.

Look at your car's paint at an angle and in the sun when you get a chance. You probably have mad swirl marks from using that brush or anything else semi-abrasive on your car.
Save the coin-op washes for winter only. If you care about your car's paint and appearance you need to own a good quality sponge, lint-free waffle-knit microfiber dry cloth (not Canadian Tire stuff), and some meguiars crystal car wash liquid. |

I've used the brush at car washes for years and never had a problem with the paint. Not sure why everyone is so against it. I rather use the brush than go to a non touchless car wash.
