Traffic camera on red

Hi all, I think I got a snap shot from turning a right on red. It flashes on me twice as I was rolling about 35km/h on the turn. Does anyone know any place to fight the ticket or what should I do when the ticket comes? Help please. Thanks in advance

There's no way u can fight off those tickets once they cleanly get the pictures of ur car running the red. However, u can try to get them reduce the fines.

Isint the rule that you can do a right turn on a redlight if you stop before hand?. In manitoba, If you stop at the redlight (obviously in the righthand turning lane) and are allowed to go right on red- You can and will not get flashed.

Sounds like you coasted through it, therefore running the redlight.

Just pay the ticket, and learn from the mistake.

In some cases, yes. But some red lights are NO TURN ON RED and they're photo enforced.

Something about no Dismissals and no amendments. (Did you come to a complete stop?)
The points and stuff best be asking the Police or Insurance about.

Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8

sorry man you blaintantly broke the law and got cought... do not pass go and do not collect $200....

you roilled through the red... on right turns with a red you must stop at the cross walk with everyone else and if there is no one crossing the street and it is safe to do so then proceed with caution slowly and with your turn signal on turn....

you didnt stop, didnt check for podestrians.... your @$#ED

in toronto you cant turn left on a gr3een or a right on a red... or strait durring 8-4 or 8-6 on weekends except if.... whatever. i just turn where i need to and hope not to get cought... then if i got pulled over just pretend like im lost and dont speak english...... the photo enforced intersections are a bit worrying...

Honestly dude .. depending on where this happened .. in Toronto there are so many people with tickets that .. if you go into the court say you want to fight it .. they will say okay .. and tell you to wait for something to come in the mail. You will wait aprox 3-6 months and get something that says due to long waiting times .. blah blah due to this and that the ticket has been thrown out. Bingo !!! Thats all you gotta do !! But .. I would suggest you learn from your mistakes .. cus I beleive running a red light is like 3 points .. say goodbye to your insurance

Well, obviously since this post is on the Canada East forum, it must not be in NYC so who cares what the rules are in NYC?

Since this is a traffic violation, yes it has demerit points associated with it, and as a result your insurance will go up. Next time obey the law and this won't happen.

how do I do that?

If I decided to go to court for it, what do you need to do at the court? Its my first time getting a ticket, so I have no idea. Any info will help, thanks.

Well, for starters you can tell them that it's your first offense, and they might lower or throw out the ticket. I know that happens with regular speeding tickets and what not. With speeding tickets, however, you can always argue that the radar was not calibrated, or that your speedometer was out of whack, or that you couldn't read the speedometer because the print is too small, etc. With a picture showing your car in the middle of an intersection on a red light, you can't argue, so your only way out would be to hope the judge would be understanding enough to let you go with a warning or with a lower fine.

Good luck!

Just pay it, it will have NO implication on insurance or your driving record. It's a redlight camera, they can't tell who's driving it, so they can't pin it on anyone's driver abstract.

You can fight it, but I don't see what excuse you can possibly have.

I would be careful doing this. Doesn't paying the ticket also entail an admission of guilt?
