Aftermarket alarms on 8th Gen Civics

I have been thinking about getting an aftermarket viper or compustar system for my car and have been reading some threads on here on the topic. i learned that among the 8th gen owners, the opinion is fairly divided.

there are alot of owners who think that the oem system with its immobilizer is a better deterent than a radio operated aftermarket setup....there was a lot of back and forth. i am sort of leaning towards keeping it as it is but there is no solid basis for this to be honest.

are alot of you guys running such systems or most of you guys feel safe with a stock one?

thanks in advance

I'm leaning towards a nice Compustar.

A few members of Canada east have them, and I kinda like them.

No reason, just like the features, seems more flambouyant than the others..

I considered getting an aftermarket alarm, but the only thing I've considered is a viper model that allows you to use the factory lock and unlock buttons for the arm and disarm. It would be kinda donkey to carry around a separate transmitter with our big ass keys..

Honda Canada sells an an accessory alarm system. As anyone bought, installed or had one installed?

I feel safe with the stock alarm. My car is parked either at home in the garage or at work in an enclosed parking lot with 24/7 security. As a result I have not given any thought to getting an aftermarket alarm. Besides, my car is stock, so I don't see why thieves would be interested in it anyway.

I have compustar in my ride, I just like the added peace of mind then the factory alarm.

I do not have a garage at home so my ride is parked in front of my town house, I can see my car from my window. At work she is under cover and camera so I can see her all the time, just gotta log into the camera system at work.

I got a compustar installed the first week I got the car. It's been about 2 years now and still works amazingly. I got it with the battery backup so in case they clip the power wire to shut off the siren the battery backup kicks in and keeps the siren going. Get a 2way so you know when your alarm is going off. People usually disregard alarms when they sound nowadays.

zenesis ftw!

because i got the knock sensor engine immobolizer trunk release 6000 feet range on FM frequency LED coloured pager its just totally loaded and works great the head engineer of compustar made these alarms so they're similar to the compustar just easier to use the menu and options IMO
