Question Windows cracked :(

Hello,

I was driving on HWY7 last night and suddenly one small piece of stone hit my front window and it kinda cracked............

Where can I go and fix it?
I heard that if I just drive with this condition, it will be bigger and bigger

How big of a crack/chip do you have? I was on the 401 a couple of months back and got a stone chip. Haven't filled it yet, but it also hasn't gotten any bigger.

I don't think this works in the GTA..

but yes there are companies that do that - if you want I can ask my dad tonight - he got someone to come to the house last month for his Odyssey.

And in terms of replacing - you don't need to always replace - if its gone through, yes, if its just a small chip then no. Just plug. My dad drove his car for a year with 2 chips. It wasn't until this winter where he got a 3rd, 4th and 5th that he felt its time.

Have someone look at it though to see whether it really needs to be replaced.

^^ not in most cases. the deflector is designed to deflect tiny rocks, pebbles and debris flying there on the road and much depends upon height of the debris flying.

a chip can be filled to a certain extent. A crack however cannot be fixed. My windshield cracked when I was out of town, and my car was parked on the street. It got to be about 2.5 ft long within a week and i had to pay 220 bucks for a new one/install from a place a few miles from my house.

i heard that insurance companies fix two windows cracks a year or something along those lines.. it doesn't effect your premium, and u don't have to pay a deductible..

that;s what i heard..i dunno if it's true.. doesn;t hurt to ask ; >

there's a auto glass repair shop near my home, it's locaed on Markham Rd. & Highglen.

It's right beside the auto repair centre of Canadian Tire, there's a small shop there and it helps ppl repair windows. Check it out. If u have difficulty finding it, give me a call and I'll take u there

I got a chip in my windshield over the winter on a drive up to Tremblant. I had it filled promptly because I too had heard that if you don't, it could spread. My insurance paid, and all was good...

Well, until it began to crack... It basically started to spread outwards vertically. It wasn't that huge, until I came out from work the other day and it's now MASSIVE (I think because the car sat in the sun all day).
So now I don't know what to do other than replace the whole windshield....????
It's gonna be pricey, and I paid for the tint just last year too!

Pic (can't really see it from outside, better from inside view)

Definitely fix it asap. My windshield cracked too. It was a nine inch crack but it grew halfway across the entire windshield in about 3 weeks. Luckily since there wasnt a visible impact, the dealer replaced my windshield under warranty.
