Could use a hand with my trade in..

Ok car arrives on the 27th, stealership wants to give me 500$ for my '97 jetta in good condition. Kelly Blue Book lists it at 2k fair 3k good $USD.

Anyone know a good used car dealership, spare parts depot, or private buyer that might be interested? Im guessing some of you recently traded in your previous rides. EZ

500 dollars? Jesus, are you kidding me?

I don't know much about VW resale (is it good or bad?) but that's outrageously low, it seems.

But all in all, it is ALWAYS more profitable to sell privately.

You might want to try AutoTrader. I'm not sure how big it is down there in the GTA, but it's a fairly resourceful site for people in Ottawa looking for cars. Selling it at the dealership would be the worst way to go. The dealership is probably going to end up selling it at 2K.

Cool, thanks for the feedback. I just listed her on craigslist, and noticed people were asking even more then me for older models with more mileage and less features.

Even try taking out an add in say the Toronto Star or Sun.

Definitely stay away from the stealerships, they rip you off BIG time!!!

GL with the sale.

i think its worth more than that... did the dealership give you a discount on your car? Cuz they may be taking it out of the trade in value so you think you got a deal

thanks, plenty of good ideas, so far craigslist is really working out. I have more people interested in coming by for test drives then I know what to do with. And I only put the add up last night around midnight. EZ

Why have someone interested? I'll cut you guys a good deal.

For the time being I'm letting my older sister use it. This weekend I need to open the dash and fix some small electrical stuff(speedometer is cutting in and out), and then get it inspected and e-tested. Should net close to a $2.5-3K Canadian, in the worst case scenario I allready had a wholeseller offer to take it off me as is for 1g.
