XM Radio Installation on a 2008 Civic EX-L
I hope you guys can help me. In brief, the XM radio wasn't available in the Civic in Canada, for whatever reason, even though its in the Accord and one other model (Pilot?). In any case, I found the Honda XM portion of the radio for sale in the US, Here is the link to the retailer page: http://www.collegehillshonda.com/honda_ ... ronics.htm . 2nd item down “XM Satellite Radio Kit”
The installation guide is available on that page and here: http://www.collegehillshonda.com/instru ... mradio.pdf I think it will install into the existing radio just fine. I can't imagine the innards change between American and Canadian models, aside from the XM component itself being missing. The only visible difference I can see is that instead of the last selection button on the radio being "AUX" instead of "XM/AUX" on the American model. As I said, I doubt the innards are different but I'd rather get it confirmed first before I drop a few hundred bones on the component. Thanks for your help. |
