legal tinting

maybe i'm not searching hard enough, but can anyone tell me what is the legal % for tinting windows.

yep - ask your local shop that would install the tint for you.

There is no legal tint for side windows At least for NJ , but all the other windows can be limo if you really want....I have 20 PBA, FOP, cards I tinted all around 15%... Looks Great!!!!!!!!!!!Stealth Mode lol... My WIfe works for The Superior Court System... So I have a free pass ...I HOPE..lol Or if your close to a Doctor Relationship wise You can actually get a note state for medical reasons like sensitive eyes etc.. Worth a try right

To be legal these are the percentages.......

Driver/Passenger windows 35%
Rest of the side windows 20%
Back window 5%

There are members that have 20% all round. Just depends on if you get pulled over or not. Basically the police want to be able to see inside the front windows when the make a traffic stop, thats why front windows are suppose to be 35% because with that percentage you can still see in.

no such thing as % legal.....in the HTA (highway traffic act) "up to the discretion of the officer"

but more or less as long as he can see u and the passenger at night with tinted windows you should be fine.

i have a civic sedan and my buddy has an civic 2000 sir, we got our windows tinted at this auto performance shop in toronto. but yea. i got all my back window 15 and my sides 20.. i think... or was it 5 and 15... not sure. but the point is. the tint on my car right now is "illegal" but i havent gotten pulled over once even when a cop stopped beside me at a traffic light, and niether did my friend. so yea, i dont think you should be too worried, UNLESS you limo tint, thats like asking to get pulled over lol. i got my tint for 180. not sure if thats expensive or not, its around 250 in hamilton

LOL damn windsor cheap, but travelling there to get my windows tinted is like 20 bucks worth of gas so it all works out =D hhahaha

Site is pretty vague! Most members here are from Ontario and that says as long as you can see inside.. haha .

I didn't get out my tint law book to verify every location listed on the site!! I suppose my statement to the accurate info would apply to where I live. So... my reasoning was that since it was accurate to my state, that it could possibly be accurate to other locations as well. I didn't even look down the list to the Canadian Provinces he has listed. Seeing that now, I see that indeed his descriptions are literally VAGUE! LOL :)

If you're in the Richmond Hill area do your tints at Audio Heaven. They offer a life time warranty on the tints and they use SolarGard. Plus they did a pretty great job on mine.
I ended up getting 35% all the way around.

I'm almost certain that there is a tint limit, well in manitoba ne ways. Some cops will let it slide if your not being stupid or ne thing but can pull out the tint meter if they want and give you a fine.

your back window and quarter panel windows could be painted black and it would be legal. yes i'm serious, was told so by an officer when i attended driving school.
