Some Help with decision pls!

Hello,
I'm new to the forum and like it alot.
I have a little decision to make if anyone could give their 2 cents, I'd appreciate it.
I know this is a Civic forum but I just want to go with a smart decision .

I have a Mazda 3 2005 gx , with options like mag wheels(stock) , cd player (4 speakers) and audio on steering, bug deflector, mud flaps, and side door guards, keyless entry, that is about it.I bought the car in Oct 2004 because my chev was finished and I needed a car at the time , the new civics weren't out yet so I had a choice of Mazda3 or Corolla.

Anyways I am thinking of getting a civic 2006 lx , the garage told me I will have 8500$ tax incl to finance after trade in with my car.Is this a good deal, I paid 20,500 tax incl for my Mazda3 at the time.

Is it worth it ?
Thks

Thats not worth it honestly.. I think you should wait another year or two.. because your car just lost so much value... But if you have 'lots of moneys',, you should get the civic :]..
All you're gonna hear here is to get the civic.. just a heads up

Damnn, the stealer-ship is at it again. Think about it logically, A 2005 car with low km's I assume, no accidents (again i'm assuming) and neat add-ons for 8500? I would of slapped him in the face, Rick James style. Seriously, if you want to get rid of your Mazada for a civic do it under your own terms and post it on Autotrader or something. You will for sure get more then what any dealership offers you. The stealer-ship is not your friend, at the end of the day they only have one objective... maximize profit.

Your naturally going to get screwed on a dealer trade in, so like Team Midnight said, check out autotrader and maybe list it up there to see what kind of money you can get for a similar year car with similar km's. You'll always win out selling the car private as compared to trading it in!

The 8500$ is what I have left to pay after I trade in my Mazda 3 2005 gx for the Civic lx 2006 which is 25,000$ with taxes in Canada, they are not giving me 8500 for my car, hope everyone gets that.

Thks.

I knew what you were saying with the first post and it's sounds good. Although I haven't done any research on what you are wanting to know.

Cheers!

ok well dealerships give you a wholesale value on the cars when they come in so you can guarantee that you will get a better deal if you sell private... if u have 8500 to pay that means that you got 16500 for that trade after tax savings so you really got about 14450 or so for your car on a trade in... I took a 2005 Mazda 3 Sport top of the line in about 3 months ago with about 25k on it and after calling the mazda dealer, they got 16500... it seems to me that they are right on the money because u have the gx which i think is a lower model compared to the sport model with leather i saw... i hope that helps.. oh yes and you paid 20500 for the car when u bought it and considering that you dont get taxes or freight back, that means about 17g-18g is the actual value of the car new so i think what they told you is a good deal...

Finally many thks , what u said was right, but I paid 20500 with taxes when I bought my mazda 3 2005 almost 2 years ago.
Yes the gx is the bottom line but I took some options which raised the price up a bit all in Canadian dollars.
So with 8500 with taxes left to pay, it is a good deal to u.
Did u sell ur mazda for a Honda?
Will I see a big difference between these 2 cars?

THks
