Best DIC's for low/mid power DD?

As the title states. I've decided not to invest tons of much money making this into a racecar, but rather a fun N/A DD. I've searched around and I see the names Drag Cartel, Go Power, and some Kelford. I can't seem to find many dyno's showing an increased power curve for the low/mid end, or the costs of these cams. I will be running i/rh/70mm E/fp. Also, will i need to upgrade the injectors for DIC's? Thanks.

none of the dic's really improve the power output very much.

I know they improve power or people wouldn't sell/buy them. Im just looking for an increase in the low/mid range, top end really doesn't concern me unless im at the track which doesnt happen that often. Im going to go ahead and count out Kelfords since ive read too many posts which reference issues people have had. DC's or Go power seem to be the favorites.

And injectors, necessary?

Not necessarily true. People often buy useless mods that really do nothing for power.

DC DICs may (emphasis on "may") net you around 10HP peak. For the $1k you're spending for those cams, you might as well get decent ones with VT. I thought I'd be happy with DICs, but then I sold mine when I got a great deal on Todas.

You will most likely need injectors, since most people with quality bolt-ons are close to maxing theirs out. RDX 410cc should more than suffice.

TSX looks good from the few threads i can find, +10whp in the low/mid range and a few up top for $300-$400 used is nice. With the money saved there i may go on to purchase a larger TB and bore out the IM.

Someone on the engine/tranny thread is selling Buddy Club spec 1. He states it got him 238whp with bolt ons. I am sure that was contributed by low/mid range power curves. Ran them for a year I think with no issues. $350 is the last I saw on it. Quite a deal.

I'm a little uneasy saying this, but after digging around a little deeper kelford 179-a's seem like they are perfect for me. I read about people having "issues", but exactly happened? Was it an issue with the way the cams were ground, or the material used?

@ galaxy, i think i even saw a few posts where you had some kelfords. decided it wasn't enough power?

1. Stay away from Kelford camshafts. I and other 8th gen members have had installation problems with them. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops and use all kinds of tricks to install cams because the manufacturer didn't grind them correctly.

2. Drop-in cams aren't worth the money for what you get. Most drop-in cam dyno's i've seen gained 10whp or less. Figure you're spending at LEAST a grand (assuming you're doing the cam install yourself) for the cams plus a tune. More than that if you decide to go with the Drag Cartel DIC's. Just save up the extra 300 bucks or so for valvetrain. If you're gonna do it, do it all the way. I promise you this...you spend that much money and end up with an extra 10whp (if you're lucky) you're gonna be seriously disappointed.
