Blue Print Stage Two Cams
I have the blueprint stage 2 cams and was wondering what others are putting down. I just got retuned and made 241hp @ 168. Just trying to see where i stand. Thanks.

I been thinking on my next build of going with blueprint for everything since my buddy Rob has the hook up with Rob at blueprint. Did you do the cam tower oil mod as well?

I have blueprint ported rbc with p2r gaskets, mdx tb, tb spacer, sk2 mega power header, go power 3" header back, a hp reducing t1r intake, e85 with 775cc injectors, go power valve train, a good tune with flashpro. I used a dyno jet dyno. And no cam tower mod.

Rick spec intake style will definitely get 250. Maybe lightweight flywheel. Rsx pump net pullies. Regardless what you do. You have a great build as it is. I bet those cams would love higher compression. So I been told.

OP: Our cars are quite similar as far as mod lists go (and exteriors for that matter
). You definitely need a bigger intake, as well as a ported throttle body. I admit to not knowing a lot about the Rick Spec intake other than the fact that it's nearly identical to the Go Power intake I'm using. I suggest getting the Go Power unit only because it has a stabilizing bracket built into it. It's my understanding that the Rick Spec moves around, vibrates, and knocks against things. Like I said, I don't know a lot about the Rick intake so if I'm mistaken about these issues, somebody feel free to correct me.

If you were to dyno your car using a filterless 3" intake pipe you would only see about +4 to +5 whp over the T1R system on a DynaPack...or about +3 whp on a Mustang/AWD dyno. See April 2011 issue Honda Tuning Mag for test on 08 SI w/Stage 2 style cams. A J37 TB and a 3-Angle valve job (from Blueprint) would put you around 255 whp. Add 12.5:1 pistons to that and you would see around 270 whp on E85 which you already run. Great car! |
