TSX cams need help please

they made you an offer? you are buying. ask for 350-375 shipped. link them to other for sale threads that show the going rate. but they kind of are a hot commodity. still....you could find them for less. just make sure 06-08, and that they arrive in good condition. but $50 could be worth the piece of mind.

Does anybody know how to tell the year of this cams? This guy is selling a set in craigslist but he doesn't know if they're 06+ ?

what do you think about 40k on the cams? I'm not too knowledgeable on the wear and tear on these. Btw, he bought them used off somebody's TSX but never got around to installing them.

if they have seen a few owners...you gotta start to be careful. 40k sounds just fine, but you never know. could come from a seized motor, or with mine, the guy planned to "fix" the damage and resell, so you never know.


the exhaust cam gears are the same for 04-05, and 06-08, its the intake that is different and preferred. it will have 2 rings on it....one of the threads on k20a has some good comparison pics..

buying new will give you peace of mind...but will cost an additional couple hundred potentially....probably even the cost to install them. i put up a WTB on k20 and just kept bumping it. there are a lot out there...just not all for sale on the same day.

great thread, and got answered quick! i have read numerous threads to get all the same answers in this one thread lol. I am thinking of this set up as well, for a gread DD and still track of course Too bad ive delayed getting cams for almost a year. setting up suspension took longer than i thought.

no. yes, but no. there is probably like an H4 or something printed on the side....which supposedly has been determined to really mean nothing.

Does anyone know of a quality place to get TSX cams installed in San Jose, CA 95120?

Ive heard of a few places down in SoCal (Go Power, Evasive, Church Automotive), but if I could save myself a 6 hour drive that would be great.

Is there a DIY to install cams? Can't find one. So if someone is looking to upgrade to tsx cams then they are looking at around $600 brand new?

About $660 ish for brand new, yes.

Btw, Evasive Motorsports down in Los Angeles, CA, just quoted me the following labor/installation costs. I've never dealt with them before, but have read tons of threads and HondaTuning articles vouching for their quality work:

-RRC intake manifold and J35 TB install - $300.00 + $100 w/ Honda Coolant exchange
-RDX injector install - will be included in the manifold swap

Getting them dropped in next week at Church. I had my car tuned last year over there with very nice results. They are very familiar with our engines and cool peeps. If you find some time, I would say it's worth the drive.

who is doing your tune? not sure you will see that kind of increase. should grab my tune as a starting cal. you have injectors?
