Change California Tint Law
Saw this while browsing online for tints. CHANGE CALIFORNIA TINT LAW Petition : [ powered by iPetitions.com ]. I don’t see any harm in signing and it might actually benefit us. Just letting you guys know out here at 8th gen that someone is trying to do something bout this. I know for a fact that a lot of you guys have gotten tickets for your tints
. I’m planning on getting 35 all over so I might be next![]() So its time that we to do something bout it . After you sign up it will ask you for a donation but you don’t have to do it. I think it’s for the website itself and not the petitioner. Thanks guys. |

So did you ever get your car tinted? I'm going to do it this weekend and I would really like to hear some input. I'm planning on doing a 40 in front and I’m not sure what to get for the back. My only options are 30 and 15 (the film I'm getting does not have 20). Would 40 and 15 look awkward coz of big jump in shade? Is it better to just go with 40 and 30 to make it look more natural? My only concern with 30 is that it might not be worth it for the back coz it’s too light. I really don't know what to do. I really need some help. I'm paying a lot for the tints coz I’m getting the axcess llumar which is the top of the line and will not mess up your navigation and radio reception.

So if anything, it really depends on what you want and don't want....dark tint all around and risk getting pulled-over all the time, or go with a light set-up in front and dark set-up in back, and be a little more at ease while driving. The laws aren't going to change anytime soon...so we're just going to have to deal with it. BTW: This month's "Ride of The Month" has tint set-up of 50% front and 35% back. I think it looks alright...and I can be happy with this shade difference...but 20% back for me though. |

And for those officers that have been shot, Im sure that sucks a lot more than your minor inconvenience. Quote:
![]() 2. Boo-F'in-Hoo Not serious at all. He just has issues because he cant follow the law so he makes up dramatic stories to make it seem like he is being oppressed. Well, most people would use this simple logic: My car + tints = Ticket My car - tints = No ticket ![]() Quote:

Other people tint thier windows KNOWING that it is illegal, than complain like disappointed 5 years old christmas when they get a ticket. If you want to do something illegal, go ahead. But when you get pulled over and ticketed, be a man and accept the consequences. There is nothing to blame but your own childish ways.

If tint is really that important to your self image, here is what you do.
1. Go to Wal-Mart 2. Buy a laser pointer 3. Aim directly into your left retna 4. Turn on laser pointer 5. Hold for 5-10 minutes 6. Repeat steps 3 - 5 on right retna 7. Go to your local optometrist and get a waiver signed for photophobia 8. Tint as dark as you want. Simple as that. Enjoy

Im not saying that limo tint on the front should be legal. All im saying is allow some kind of tint to be legal in your front windows as it is getting too hot here in California thanks to global warming. If cops are worried about not being able to see the driver then why do some states allow it? I know that some states allow up tp 35%. Maybe at least 50% should be made legal. Both side can get what they want, drivers get at least some type of heat protection and cops can still see the driver. What so wrong about that.

So if that is your real reason, there is your solution. As for other states, that is their local governments call. They dont feel they need tint laws, then that is their choice. Other states have no relevance to the laws in California.
