Someone explain this.

Long story grab some

For a brief background I drive a 07 Civic LX and I bought it specifically for commute. I live in OC and I commute to LA everyday on the 405, and my car is plateless right now.

Today I was doing 70-74mph on the 405 near Irvine in the middle lane, 2 over from the HOV lane, with no car in front of me as far as I can see, and a middle aged man in his Chevy Cavalier passed me on the fast lane. I paid no attention since I drive like a granny these days and are used to being passed. Then for no apparent reason he cut over to my lane and cut me off with only 3-4 ft space from my front bumper. I hate getting rock chips on my hood and the civic's brakes feel significantly weaker than my Volvo so I switched over to the fast lane and maintained my speed. I passed him 2-3 minutes later because of traffic in his lane, and as soon as I passed the traffic in his lane I switched back over to the middle lane to slow down. This jackass switched into the fast lane behind me and as soon as I switched back to the slower lane he passed me and cut me off again. No reason whatsoever, plenty of space in front of me so there was no reason for him to squeeze in. I got in the fast lane again and sped up and he got on the gas as well. WTF I looked over but he wouldn't acknowledge me but eventually he left off around 85 as I passed him. I blew pass him pretty fast. I know, I know. I wasn't racing at all but he was definately screwing with me for no reason. After that he just stayed behind me for rest of the way and didn't attempt to cut me off again.

What the heck guys. I dont street race and I got this car to save gas on my commute. I am driving a non-sporty Civic model and this idiotic 40 year old man try to mess with me no reason. I can't imagine the amount of crap I am going to receive when I buy my weekend hotrod this winter. Anyone cares to explain what is going on in his head.

some people will do anything to make them feel batter about themselves. I deal with morons like that everyday here in the DC metro area. they are all over the place and you just have to learn to ignore them.

I agree whole heartedly. I live in a pretty plush area and I deal with egomaniac in their souped up SUVs, Range Rover Sport, ML AMGs all the time. As soon as they see a little civic in front of them they cut out and floor their pimp mobile. It's not like I dont have the finance to purchase their cars, but I like to stay low key and the civic makes perfect sense for my long commute. I ignore them everyday but this guy in his cavalier was out to mess with me. Anyways, take care I am off to bed.

I've got an '06 sedan. People rev at me all the time. Then they take off spinning tires and sliding sideways, completely acting like fools. I usually laugh at them, because of all the money I'm saving on tires and gas.

Let them be idiots and do your best to ignore drivers like that. It'll save you from potentially getting a ticket for being an idiot driver too.

Ha. I've experience worse shit when driving in my bros 01 Accord V6 sedan, lowered. The guy in the truck was acting crazy, unprovoked. When he saw us taking the off ramp he cut across 4-5 lanes to chase after us. In a turn he almost drifted into us. We were trying to ignore him but we had to get away from this obviously import hating moron, we passed him and booked it. We were speeding at 120mph until we gained distance and lost him. Honestly, I looked at how he was behaiving and I thought to myself "this is why people buy guns." This guy deserved to crash into a tree. Plus the limo tint on his front side windows didn't help me either.
