CA Emissions & aftermarket parts
Not sure if this has been posted yet anywhere, but I couldn't find it in here. This is a link for the California Air Resource Board (C.A.R.B). Those are the sh$theads that tell us what we can't put on our cars. Anyways the website has an aftermarket parts database that you can search by CARB EO (Executive Order) number. Of note....there are no parts listed for 2006 Si that I have seen yet. Maybe it takes a while to get inputted in data base. I will research further. You can also obtain CARB EO numbers from manufacturers (say like the Greddy bolt on turbo kit) and plug them in their database.

Oh, shit, f that man...who cares...at worst just pull it off for emissions. IMHO the only thing you really need to worry about is fi or internal engine components...cuz they be a biatch to remove... In fact my last car (98 Acura CL 3.0) had I/H/E (none of it carb legal) and I passed fine, just depends on the place...

^^^I can't imagine how he accomplished that. There is no way in hell it would pass the sniffer...The only thing you can bs is visual...which works for almost all mods, fi included, but a strait pipe..no way in hell (no cat, no pass). Not calling bs on you man, but I think your buddy is incorrect...It just isnt possible, unless he had another stock evo to put on the dyno...plain and simple
Fact is almost no mod causes more emissions other than a strait pipe or cams, or possibly a refash (depending)....

Also, I know a cop who was telling me how the cops go to classes to learn all about illegal mods, what they sound like, look like, etc.. ![]()

running catless in socal isnt as bad as it is in norcal although lately the cops here are starting to get on cars without cats. depending on the prick that pulled you over, they have the right to impound your car if you dont have a cat and take it to the state ref. i have some friends who welded the heatshield of a cat onto their piping somehow and others just have a resonator and say thats the cat. and when the cop smells the fumes, say that the cat is probably blown. i dont even risk the fine and run a cat w/ shorty header, cuz the fine can range anywhere from $1000-$10000 depending on the extent of mods from wut i hear.

This is why they call it a hook up source. I can get any car to pass. Costs
some $$ though Quote:
