Suspension of Referee And CAP Services??? wth

sup cali, i was reading thru some other forums and came across this... i thought a few of you may be interestedd in this info...

so what? now u can have a header.. go to a smog shop and have it written off and nothing happens?

i think they are no longer gonna have refferee stations...
so which means they cant send u to the ref if the cops bust u for something illegal under the hood.... but they will probably still send u to smog

yea. i just read this on bimmer forums. they might be back as soon as the end of this year however since the budget is going to get reworked. but refs from what i heard know a lot of stuff and do a check on your car that is A LOT more extensive than just a smog shop. such as visual inspection of parts, noise tests, sniff...just everything. i just hope this stops people getting pulled for a header or such to a lesser extent.
