MSRP = manufacturer's suggested retail price

That's set by Honda all across the board

MSRP = Manufacturers suggested retail price.. it's the same for all dealers nationwide.

If I were you I would seriously shop around for a good amount of time, make sure that you're getting the deal that you want and don't settle for a dime more than you want to spend. Remember, there's always other cars out there that you might be just as happy with if you can't find the deal that you want. You'd be amazed at the price fluctuation between dealerships. When I was going to buy an fg2 I had worked out a deal for $20,800, and 2 days after that deal was worked out the dealership called me up and offered me an fg2 w/nav & hfp kit for $27,500. Point being to check dealerships again and just talk to a different guy if the first salesman that you talked to wasn't working with you.

Also, you might want to talk to cbondhonda. He's a sponser here (at least I think he's still a sponser here) and he's an internet salesman for Gunn Honda here in Texas, but he's worked out deals with a few members here to have the car sent to the closest dealer to you. From what I've seen he does great deals so it's at least worth a shot.

Oh, and make 100% sure that this is the car that you want to buy. Read all the good and bad threads about it. If you plan to modify read up on the moss-magsun(sp) warranty act and see what you can do and what you might want to avoid. Read up on the transmission issues and contact members that have been able to get the recent TSB on the si tranny. Read about the people that have no problems whatsoever and have had their car dyno'd @ 187 stock, and read up about the people that have dyno'd at 167 stock. Go to New Car Prices, Used Car Pricing, Car Reviews by Edmunds Car Buying Guide and check out the cost to own and the invoice/msrp so you have more negotiating power.

Basically, remember that this is one of the biggest investments that you'll ever make in your life and make for damn sure that you're doing something that will make you happy for years to come. Learn as much as you can before you even look in the direction of a dealership so you can have that knowledge on your side when it comes time to discuss prices. There are a lot of people here that are more than willing to help out, you just have to dig through threads and find out who can help you the most.

But most of all, Welcome to the site bud. We look forward to seeing what you can come up with.. Make sure and keep us updated.

A lot of it depends on the options you want....

I have an FA5 with navi, lo-jack, wheel locks, floor mats, extended warranty and paid 25 6 and change after tax, licensing, etc etc.

But don't buy it on a whim at the dealer.i ended up using the car buying service at the credit union where i got my loan. They found my NHBP sedan for cheaper than i was negotiating. Took me 6 weeks from "I want an Si to I own an Si"

Words of wisdom there..

I literally had 1 day to find a car, and when I got back to the finance office I paid for it dearly.

After all was said and done I paid close to $22k OTD for my VP em2. Do you know what VP stands for? Very Pathetic. It has NO options whatsoever except for side airbags. It's a manual with no tach... But I got back there and just agreed to evertyhing on a whim, which is something that I should've never done.

Take the advice from the people that have been through it, do massive amounts of research before you start negotiating. Take it from someone that later on ended up being unhappy with his car, make sure that it's the car that you want. Set a limit on how much you're willing to spend a month and don't go a dime over that.. But, at the same time, consider how long that you'll be in the loan.

I know that I'm being redundant and I apologize, I would just like to try and help you out a bit here.. My help isn't always welcome but it's what I do so :shrugs:.

I haven't even looked to see your age or anything, I could be preaching to someone wiser than me and I'd have no idea, lol.

That's actually pretty good if it includes tax, title and license. I've been shopping around for an FA5 and have got into the low 20xxx's before TTL. That equates to about 22,600 OTD.

Then there's the damn Mazda dealer that can get me into an MS3 for a grand more. All the more reason - as stated above - to weigh all of your options before you choose your car. Good luck!

if you want a good deal on OTD, get black or silver. i was offered 19K + tax for a black FG2 and a silver FG2

i was also offered 20K + tax for a TW FA5

it just depends on the color and number of doors!
