Unhappy Worse Thursday EVER!!! May 31st 2007

So my civic is only 5 days old:

Even better, I was going to go get tints for my car because it was the first mod that I wanted to do because it was cheap and affordable.

Tint Master is located in L.A. I dorm at San Diego for school, so I left UCSD at 5:30am from San Diego to L.A. because my appointment was suppose to be at 9am. To beat the L.A. traffic, I had no other choice but to leave at the break of dawn. Man I was so excited, I even had a friend come along with me so that I wouldn't be bored out of my mind for the long ride. ONE HOUR LATER, a freaking spare tire fell off of an old F-150 (registered in Mexico, with Mexico license plate). One truck ran over it and got a flat tire. Another truck ran over it and the spare tire slammed into his radiator and caused some minor leaks. Another car ran over it and got a flat tire. As it was still rolling and bouncing on the 5 freeway near Camp Pendleton, another truck ran over it and it shot out from the bottom of his car heading my way. I was like WTF?!?!?! It started to bounce my way... I had 3 seconds to say.. ahhhh Shhhh****tttt. Of course around 6 am there was pretty moderate traffic on the freeway so all I could've done was slow down. Then BAM!!!!!!

So an hour later a CHP officer came and told us that it was our fault for hitting it and there's no use of filing anything because that's just how it is. STUPID TIRE!:

YUP!, the dent in the rim was due to the impact of my car hitting it.
So what ended up happening was 3 tow trucks came to the scene:

Lucky my friend had triple AAA with a 100 mile towing radius. But man, I just want to vent .. haha. I got the civic because I got hit by a car on the 5 freeway (near El Toro) on my motorcycle (Honda CBRF3):

Fadgglhaslkfghelsehrkjghiksdeiodfhgdlsiuawhjki3i!! ! <-- FRUStration on keyboard.
Now I am car-less with no ride to H.I.N. As a matter of fact.. no ride anywhere.. haha.
Looking at all the people's car on here gives me some relief because all these cars are so beautiful.. haha man... waiting is hard, that's all I gota say.
My car right now is at the SunRoad shop in Kearny Mesa, luckily Honda gave me a month of comp/collision coverage for free! (or at least when I bought the car it came with it). Man... couldn't ride a bike because someone hit me, can't drive a car cause I hit something... I guess God just wants me to appreciate how much he can give and take away. I'm just glad I'm still walking from my motorcycle accident and I can walk away from this small accident with the random tire on the freeway and laugh about it. Oh yea, so I get this "Word of the Day" sent to my email everyday by dictionary.com.
Guess what today's word is? Disconsolate... yea...
Anyways, anyone else have any bad accident stories they wanna share? Or any good accident stories they wanna talk about? haha feel free... I got all the time in the world to not drive.

Why did you get it towed? It looked good enough to still drive.

I'm so sorry to hear and see this! Glad you're ok and there was no major drivetrain or undercarriage damage to your Civic. I'm shocked that the accident wouldn't be covered by your Comprehensive. You should double check that anyway, maybe there's something they can do.

How is it not the guys fault? The mofo shoulda made sure it was properly bolted. Imagine if it hit someone on a bike. I'm not racist but i mean, go figure the truck was from mexico

Glad to hear you had free coverage for a month at least.

sounds like you need to stay off the 5 freeway.

That really sucks that your car got messed up, but I have one question for you.

If you saw 4 people run over it, WTF were you doing? I wasn't there so I am not going to speculate exactly how it went down, but if I see a spare tire fall off the back of a truck and then I see 4 people run over it, i am gonna GTFO of the way.

I am not even going to ask why you're driving from SD to LA to get your windows tinted, I think the situation is bad enough as it is.

If it makes you feel any better, two weeks ago, my Si got flooded. I just picked her back up last Friday. $2399 worth of damage and a $1000 deductible. That really blows. I am gonna create a thread about it, I have just been too pissed to so far.

I gotta look at the bright side though, free engine and tranny flush.

Those car got hit by the tire about half an before I came along. So the tire was still on the road. An then a lifted Yukon was ahead of me, he drove over the tire and cleared it, but his back wheel popped the spare tire back up and directed at me. I thought I was the only one that hit it until I pulled to the side of the road and about 1/3 of a mile a head I saw other cars pulled on the side too. Dang $1k deductible...

because L.A. does tints for a lower price than any place in SD, haha plus I wanted to drive my civic around... it feels good, you know?

because I couldn't put it into transmission and all the coolant got flushed out. It doesn't look that bad cosmetically, but if you lift up the hood, everything in the front is pushed back...

Damn dude, mine isn't as bad as yours. I too, was driving down the 5 fwy heading to San Diego to meet up with my bro. Somewhere in San Clemente area, a small toyota pickup truck runs over, what looks to me, a broken 2x4 wood stick. It comes flying into the air. I had about a second to react but you know how it feels, you see it coming towards you but you still go straight thinking to yourself let time tell what will happen. Haha the same words came out of my mouth when I saw that shit fly towards me and after saying that, BAM! Sounded like I hit a pole.

I pull over to the nearest exit and saw black scuff marks on my driver side bumper. My bumper was slightly popped out but I manage to give it a good push and it popped back in with no problem. Luckily my lights did not crack. After buffing it down with wax, I just got a small scuff mark that is about a half inch with a pinky size dent.

After that incident, I officially hated driving on the 5 south towards San Diego. LOL, but I'm transferring to UCSD so I can live in my bro's house in Chula Vista.

Oh and I've seen an incident like yours happen. I was driving on the 405 heading towards south coast plaza, and I see this lifted truck run over a spare tire. Luckily I was on the side of him but I was thinking he must of saw the tire in front of him, but looks like he didn't. After running that over, I see it go flying over cars and cars itself swerving through lanes. that shit was crazy, kind of like something you would see in a action movie.

Anyways, I know you don't want to hear people say that sucks too much, but man I feel you bro. Not a good feeling.

Well, they have the largest dealer body and sell the most Hondas per year than any other dealer in the US.

Dang, from this day on, I love AAA. Their road side assistance is amazing!! $50/month with 2 speeding tickets?!?!?! HOw'd you manage that? PM me about the details please? I still have one speeding ticket that hasn't been cleared yet because they freaking court messed up with my mailing address and so long story short, went to traffic school for nothing.
