SoCal: Chuckwalla Valley Raceway Track Day- March 23rd and 24th

There is an open track day at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway on March 23rd and I am planning on signing up. This will be my first track day and wanted to post it up on 8th to see if anybody else would be interested.

Cost is $180 for early sign up.

Chuckwalla Valley Raceway is located at 25300 Rice Rd Desert Center, CA 92239 just off Interstate 10 near Desert Center.

If anybody else is interested and would like to join let me know!

I'm in Orange County and no this will be my first time. I've been to the drag strip but not to an actually track.

It'd be great to get more 8ths out there.

Pro pointer:

Be sure to enter into the HFF(Honda Front engine Front wheel drive) Challenge when you register online regardless of if you feel competitive or not. It supports a great series and the best part is you need timing to participate so they give it to you for FREE. Saturday only though. Been there a couple times and if it's not sandy that particular weekend, it's a blast!

What exactly do you mean by FREE timing? Like lap timing?

How do you think I'll do if I run on hankook v12s with about 70% thread on them?

You should be fine. 3/5 of your sessions will be instruction and passing practice so they'll hold up.

Can you register the day of? I have flaken 912 225/45/17 would that be ok? I am thinking about getting RS-3 Hankook 245/40/17 but we will see by march.

So 3/5 sessions are instruction even in the HFF competition?

Yeah. The instruction has nothing to do with HFF. If it's your first track day, they make you go through instruction so that you don't kill yourself or any one else. It should go something like, parade lap, low speed passing instruction, high speed passing instruction, then last 2 maybe even 3 sessions they'll let you run free.

I just realized you are SCed.Do you have cooling for it? e.g. afterccooler, water/meth? venom cooler, etc etc?
