ok so last night I was pickin up dinner in los altos on the corner of san antonio and el camino and I noticed 2 cop cars in the parking lot. I didn't think much of it at the time, and picked up my food and pulled out of the parking lot and I noticed one of the cop cars following me, so I decided to drive hella cool at like the speed limit and just go straight. yeah well the followed me the whole way tormenting me driving in my blind spot laughing (yeah, i could hear em, evil evil bored cops....). they finally got tired of it (or so I thought) and went to turn left, so I turned right on foothill expressway and I was so excited I thought I finally was rid of them. Then on el camino, I ended up behind a Palo Alto cop (greaaaat....) and I turned onto my street, the cop turns too and follows me all the f*cking way home! I park in the driveway and he parks behind me.... waltzed up to me and said "the los altos police department wanted to check to see if the car was ok"
...... wtf...... my mom came out of the house and was like .... "hi can i help u?" and the cop guy started getting nervous when we started asking why the los altos cops were so concerned about my car, so he called them and they wouldnt "disclose the reasons" to him. (talk about shady, I thought the cops were supposed to work together....) So, I decided to call them and the officer meranda or whatever the F*ck her name was started just totally making up this huge lie it was actually the best conversation I have had in a long time. She was a total retard.... she was like, eh... yeah actually, in I just dealt with someone who was breaking into cars in san jose and you just happen to look EXACTLY like her. So we were suspisious that it was a stollen vehicle. LOL OMG OMG i was trying really hard not to laugh. So I asked why she didn't pull me over if they thought I jacked the car and her o so intelligent response was they didn't have probable cause. Ok, so... not enough probable cause to pull me over but enough to have a cop follow me home.... plus... what was she doing in san jose..... and how long had she been working like.... 18 hours....? *cough* bull shit* cough* the whole thing just totally blew my mind. I mean, I've been followed before, but the cops were smart enough (i guess) to just leave, and that would be the end of it. I've got an appointment with their sergeant this week to discuss teh situation - b/c mainly i just want revenge I guess... which isnt the best reason, but really now.... *sigh* and my boyfriend's response was "welcome to the world of being profiled" and then told me to get over it. wow that was long winded. I'm probably over reacting, and this probably happens all the time, but really.... wtf.... am I over reacting? |

over reacting...? nah. id be as mad as you were too. thats total bs what those cops did and if that was really true what u were saying then you would have been pulled over immediately. Happened to me the first month i had my car, there excuse was "we pulled you over bc some cars have been getting stolen around this area lately and you didnt have any license plates." so i porceeded to ask why they thot it was stolen if it has the factory plates and they just blew up on me called my parents to come get me bc according to them i was "drunk" haha and gave me a ticket for speeding and running a stop sign. went to court and made him look like an idiot THANK YOU VERY MUCH
do what you gotta do to get em back is what i say |

Strange. I don't buy their stolen car in San Jose story. They were following you long enough to call in, run your plates, and find out your car wasn't claimed stolen.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'll admit, there are officers who are aggressive for no reason. However, to stereotype a whole profession is wrong.

ah you know they're just venting. let them vent, we all have bad stories about cops. but i agree, there are 1 or 2 good cops out there. i've met one of them lol.
anyways, you guys wanna hear about profiling? get this. back when my mom had this platinum blue E320 (the new chassis, but pre face-lift). it was gorgeous and had the sports package also. she was leaving work one night, and i had already left to meet her at the restaurant down the street (less than a block away?). i'm sitting in the parking lot chilling, when i see cop lights next to the BOA. i walk over and i think there's no way that's my mom. she's like the perfect driver, doesn't speed or anything. i walk over and it's full christmas tree lights.. i'm shocked. just when i thought it couldn't get worse, it did. a 2nd car showed up with full lights as well. seriously, was that necessary? but the story gets better. the cop starts talking about why he pulled my mom over. apparently he saw my mom's tags all the way across a dark parking lot at night, and decided to follow her. not that bad though right? he had reason and everything. nope, he starts digging himself a hole. he talks about how my mom should be able to pay for the tags since she's driving a nice car and is wearing a nice watch. my mom's furious and at a loss for words right now. she's ready to blow and i'm trying to keep her under control (weirdest thing to do ever.. trying to keep a parent calm). the cop continues though, he starts talking about how it's usually mexican single mom's that can't pay for this sorta thing. i swear, if looks could kill.. that officer would've died. so because of the tags, they end up impounding the car.. can you believe it? they had to get a flatbed and everything.. and it turns out it's not that mom didn't pay for the tags, it's because the f$cking DMV didn't send us the renewal notice.. THE DMV SUCKS! so yeah.. cops profile.. my mini-story.. i was sitting outside my condo complex waiting for my mom. i'm minding my own business when these two cops park and walk up to my car. i turn to look at them and they shine a light to ID me. apparently they were looking for someone.. lemme just say this.. spiked hair + being asian doesn't help.. >< |

omg! I can't believe they impounded the car, thats hella jacked up..... I'm glad nothing ended up happening to my car.... its like totally stock, except... I tinted the windows and have led license plate lights.... profiling is so ignorant at least when cops do it..... my favorite was when she was trying to explain why she and her cop partner dude were following me and she went from claiming I looked like someone who was breaking into cars, to they suspected it was a "stolen vehicle"... 1) they were driving next to me long enough to run my plates and she said it was not reported stolen (she kinda blew her story with that one...) then 2) ok.... breaking into cars, and hot-wiring them are two completely different skill sets..... god, that cop couldn't get out of their own way lol if ur gonna lie at least have a good story, like one that makes sense.....
Oh and she said "you could have called the los altos police department to inquire about why we were following you". I really wanted to yell "i could have just yelled out my window why u following me bitch!" and yeah, like im gonna call a number I don't know on my cell phone without a hands free while a cop is next to me..... Its unfortunate she decided to make such an ass out of herself, but not all cops are like that (thank god). |

OP- This is a shady story to say the least. I have had cops follow me on several occasions. I am actually glad though because in my area the old Si's were stolen a lot. They usually call my plates in, and see everything is cool and leave. Who knows. Go to the station and file a formal complaint. If you story is 100% accurate and u didnt "beef" it up for the drama...this is technically harrasment. |

i say all honda owners, or even all import car owners should file a class action lawsuit against all police departments for ALL of california under the statute of discrimination, or to be more specific: participating in "Hondaism" or "Importism". also, we should all write our congressman about the oppression and discrimination that we all face when driving our automobile....who's with me?
