Did you print it out and give it to them? I called my dealer and they didn't know what I was talking about. They asked for the TSB number and I gave it to them. They did their search and found it and was like when do you want to bring your car in. It does exist in Honda's database.

When I got my first oil change at Honda of Serramonte months ago, I inquired about possible 3rd gear issues. I got the "we haven't run into that issue". He seemed pretty sincere about it.

^ American Honda's customer service is about as useless as a broken umbrella.

At least in my experience. Best to keep forcing the dealership. But I would also call American Honda now that they actually have a bulletin and they can't run around the facade of "We've never heard of that before."

Talked to S.L.Honda today and they know about it. Showed them the bulletin also. Do that at Serramonte Honda. Lucky mines is only minor. Honda guy told me if your warranty is up, it won't be covered. Its up to American Honda if they want to give you a percentage off or not. Anyone passed 35k miles without extended warranty will be S.O.L (shit outta luck). Honda guy also said its a To Be Serviced Bulletin and not a Recall. If it was a Recall, they would have to fix it on every new Honda that has a jacked up tranny.

^ That's what they should be doing anyways, but I didn't expect them to.

If you have a 2006 Honda, you're warranty is extended 5% (I believe to 37,500 miles), so if you're under that, you fight them to the death.

Print that paper out and slap it in their face and tell him/she/both take that ghetto slang back to their home. lol man if a service advisor cussed at me I would raise hell, they're supposed to be profressional right? Not at home.

Actually take your car to Honda Fremont AUTOMALL

Look for the service advisor named Daniel or Danny. Tall big dude.

see that is complete bullshit, cause i brought my car in about the 3rd gear issue. so i know that they've heard of it. the fact that they keep lieing bout it pisses me off even more.

Dealers generally seem to dance around the 3rd gear issue in various ways, and your response largely depends upon where you're going to.

In this particular case, I picked up my Si from Serramonte Honda. The third gear popped RIGHT OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP.

I eventually brought it into to Mike Harvey Honda with a third gear complaint, and they said that the person to PDI'd the vehicle overfilled it with gear oil instead of MTF. Still, they acted as if they never heard of this complaint before, and they didn't at all seem to cross reference it with the bulk of complaints that people had been making by that time.

Months later, I would take it up with Serramonte Honda, and the service provider I mentioned it to knew exactly what I was talking about, and didn't look at me as if I didn't know how to shift (which is what Honda apparently does to most people in these scenarios). I told him about the recalibrated MTF, and he said it solves the problem, but only temporarily.

It really depends upon who you speak to, but if you can, get a hold of Rami down there. He's been enormously helpful, friendly, and most importantly, completely non-condescending.

Shouldn't the transmission be under the Powertrain warranty, which is 60K miles???

Hey MIKKOO and YouLikeMySi, did Serramonte Honda eventually fix your 3rd gear? How was it afterwards?
