flomofo - Where are you from? What are you thinking of getting into, onroad or offroad, nitro or electric? I used to run a RC10T3 in offroad and I used to run a Tamiya TA03F, TA03R, and TA04R for onroad. I still have my Associated RC10TC4 for onroad. I would suggest to check out your local hobby shop and to see what they carry. It will be easier to get parts when you break something. I have been out of RC for several years, but I think alot of people still run Tamiya, Hot Bodies, Kyosho, Associated, and Xray for onroad. Offroad is usually Associated, Losi, and Kyosho. You are allowed to run brushless motors and lipo batteries as well as the old brushed motors and batteries.
If you are in the South Bay, RCCAR has electric and nitro racing every first Sunday of the month at Camden\Union in San Jose. In Fremont, they have Fremont Raceway for dirt oval, and Norcal Hobbies in Union City has onroad and offroad. |

I'm in sac and stockton usually, really thinking abou drifting and maybe using the same carfor on-road every once in a while.
Did the original t-maxx with a 4sstroke, revo, savage etc. then did racing at cap city with a buggy, truck and 4wd buggy, also had some on road cars in nitro and electric. Just trying something new I guess as I just sold my competition crawler, that might have been the most fun I had with an r/c car so far,so drifting is going to be something new I try. |

There was actually an RC drifting competition at Hobby Town in San Jose, this pass weekend. They where using all sorts of cars, HPI, Yokomo, Tamiya, and Associated. Yokomo, Tamiya, and HPI have kits that are specificaly for drifting, there bodies and wheels look so authentic to actual drift cars.
Stockton RC Raceway has a great race program, but I believe it is only onroad. |

Ryan, Have you tried posting it on rcracing.com? A lot of local racers post and buy stuff from there. Yup it sure is. I still have a new Team TC4 that I built when it first came out. Haven't had a chance to race it yet. It's more of a shelf queen right now. Wow, that is pretty good. When I was in college, I was pretty much broke. The prices of the highend touring cars are crazy now days, not to mention the support equipement just to run it. |

nyc here...i sold out everything last fall. i raced 1/8 with a mugen mrx4r with a novarossi 35 + 21 with a 321p as a back up engine. used a 3pk and when spektrum came out, i jumped on that thing quick. worked like a beauty. i miss the hobby and i'll jump back in some time during the next few years. i love 1/8 though. i tried 1/10 and even though some of those outlaw 1/10's run faster than 1/8's, i didnt like it much.

I've been wanting to try 1/8 buggy for a while but the tracks for 1/10 are far enough and I havent tried on road yet,so I want to try it out.
I just got rid of my comp crawler and I feel like an idiot because I sold it pretty cheap but the kicker is I sold my power supply, lipo balancer for my ice, and my nomadio react with 3 recievers. Now I need to rebuy that power supply and radio system, I feel like a jackass sometimes. I really dont know how I'm not in debt right now, a while back I got into handguns and ended up buying 5 over a few months and of course they had to be "keepers" a.k.a. expensive. |

When i used to do on road...everyone was so anal and uptight...and the smallest tuning made such a huge difference. Off road racing was so much more fun.
