Alright guys... I blew my motor...

I was on Prostreet's dyno tuning the nitrous jets and I ran wayyy too lean then POW. Blew cylinder 1... threw a rod a put a hole in the block. I just got the car off the tow truck so I'll take some pics tonight of my progress dropping the motor and then I'll post some up.

Let the questions, whoring and flaming begin!

Got the pics of the drop! It's sorta step by step type of thing so enjoy... I'll have the disassembly pics hopefully tomorrow night. I'd have more but I was in a hurry dropping it this afternoon this evening so pictures weren't really in my head.

I found a MUCH more faster way to drain coolant, but your motor has to be special like mine. Funny thing about this pic is that more oil came out of here than my radiator...

My tranny fluid is crystal clear though! Woooo syncromesh!

Poor cyl. 1 and 4 =(

Ready to come out!

Going down?

Poor motor...

AHHH!!!! It's ok... the hole's not as big as I thought.

The autopsy!

The top of the head is ok so far...

Uh Oohhhhh

Ok so rcracin13 says the holes not that bad... but I bet he can't say the same for inside!

Me saaaaaad

Look at that noodle of a rod =)

No worries though guys... I found a better swap than the frankenstein motor, but I STILL have to find a way for tuning!

All the spare parts and a special thanks for Ku for helping me out at 5 o'clock in the morning...

I was runing perfect with 75 shot according to my plugs. I threw in some 100 shot jets and went on a test run on the freeway last night. It ran strong but I never checked my plugs after. When I got to the shop this morning and had everything set up... I had Jon do the first run and I didn't pay attention to the a/f -_-. But I'm assuming it was ridiculously lean because it blew the 2nd run lol. But it's all my fault though... I failed to monitor fuel pressure like I should have. If I did I would have known that the pump was having trouble keeping up and I would have never upped the jet sizes.

Nope no April fools lol. I'll have pics up tomorrow morning hopefully. I'll be pulling an all nighter dropping the motor and taking crap apart.

Somewhat Disclaimer: NITROUS IS NOT BAD.... it's 100% my fault. I didn't monitor fuel pressure and therefore didn't know that the pump was not holding up. Had I monitored fuel pressure I would have upgrade my pump before upgrading jets. So no one out there go thinking this is one of those threads that proves nitrous is crap to your motor. It's not.
