My AIM is loudsilence13b and my phone is 510-552-8229(yeah I know it's pretty blunt to put my number out on here but I trust you guys... well... most of you guys ) Ant's gonna be picking me up Sunday morning to head out to Stinstin beach so we can scope the area. So before we head out and when we get back is an open time for you guys to see my wreckage =(. If I totalled my car... of course, but for a smaaall fee. But since all the damage is maintained inside the short block of the motor and only that part I don't think I'll be getting rid of anything that anyone is going to want other than maybe an oil pan lol. |

you sound really optimistic. wish you were on the east coast to give me a hand with my engine. i wanna drop the oil pan to check the bearings and see whats up with the rods. i dont know what to look for though. but disassembling stuff is never a problem

I'd have no problem helping you out if I were there. The only thing you'd be able to do without tearing it apart is check the end play of the crank. But that's not as accurate as doing a piston to wall clearance check or inspecting the cylinder walls. It should still give you an idea though of where you stand. Do an oil change and run the oil through a strainer... see if you catch any metal specs.

The only huge bolt on an integra in an engine bay are the 2 19mm bolts that fasten the rear mount L bracket to the tranny. The L bracket connects with 1 long 17mm and 2 19mm's. If he has one huge bolt then that means the other 19mm is bolted up. So that's 2/3 bolts put in... for a honda that's good enough!

I got my head ordered from Honda yesterday. I held back on ordering the block and gaskets because I'm not sure if I want to go frankenstein or not. Jnaut seems to be running perfectly with it and dynoed 221 on a CRV k24 which puts out less power than a TSX k24. It's kinda making my head turn but we'll see how the source in Ohio goes... he's trying to sell me his TSX block but I have yet to speak to him about it further.

hey madmonkey, let me know how things go if you use a tsx block. i have that k24 from a tsx that a local wants to sell me and im not sure how it works. jnaut used a crv block and mentioned an rsx-s oil pump and timing chain for the swap. im interested in putting a complete k24 from a tsx in rather than a frankenstein build. any info would be helpful. thanks
