Official Bay Area Autocross (SoloII) Thread
I've decided to start this thread to attract more 8thcivic owners to come out to autocross events in the Bay Area. I fell in love with the sport after my first event. I guarantee that autocrossing is a lot more exciting than drag racing. It's also a lot safer than street racing and much cheaper than road racing. So far I have not seen another 8thcivic besides myself in the SFR region. I autocross with about 7 clubrsx guys. I would really like to see more of "us" represent out there! Utilize your LSD, yadadamean?!! Our cars are not meant to go in a straight line!!! Let me know if you have any questions. I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability.

You can also obtain valuable information through other sites. Enclosed are links to other Bay Area autocross forums/threads:
Club RSX's SFR Region Auto-X Thread (There are a number of guys on crsx that are really good drivers, so noobs can definitely learn from them.. since our cars are very similar) http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=496403 The Official Bay Area Autocross Forum (You can find a lot of hardcore bay area autocrossers in this forum, most of them are very friendly. You can also obtain info for upcoming events here.) http://baautox.com/forum/ |

For SFR Region, you need to be a member to run at any events unless you are sponsored by a member (you can only be sponsored once). In order to become a SCCA member, you need to sign up online (see link below) and pay an annual fee of $45 (age of 24 and under) and $85 (25+ years of age). Then you pay $35 for each event and you get 3 runs and possibily 3-4 more fun runs at the end of the day if there's enough time left for fun runs.
To sign up for SCCA membership: http://scca.com/member/index.asp?IdS...reference=join BTW I can sponsor 1 lucky guest to the next event at Marina 8/26/07. It cost $45 for guests to run. |

I'd been thinking about auto-crossing for a while now. However, as I don't know anyone personally that does so, or anyone that goes to SCCA events, I'd been a little shy. Think you'd like to show me the ropes sometime? I'm around the bay/sac, as I go to UC Davis.

Yes, if you are willing to drive, you should come out to the next event at Marina on Sunday 8/26. We can meet up in the south bay and head out together with some of the clubrsx guys. |
