question about sedan exhaust extension

do i have to bring in the whole car or can i just bring in the required pipe for them to wield in the extra part into.

for example in that pic... which part would require the extra tubing ?

The midpipe is where you add the 2" extension. You can bring in just the pipe piece and have an extension welded on. You then will use the slip flange to connect that piece to the section with resonator. The midpipe is the middle piece in the picture.

I thought that with the Vibrant that you don't need to mod since there is that slip flange.

It would probably be easier to have it welded up when you have the car there since they'll be able to line up the straight section with the S bend/resonator section.

I say try to install it before taking it to the shop.

I had the coupe version installed on my car a few weeks ago. Instead of adding a 2" extension I had them add an 18" resonator and cut out a little bit of the midpipe (I plan on going RH later and wanted to cut down on noise). The shop told me they needed to bend one of the sections to get it to fit in correctly and it is still a pretty close fit. You may not go the same route with the resonator. But I hope this helps
