Vibrant Help Needed Asap

So a friend and I are putting on my vibrant exhaust, we got all the stock piping out and the first part of the vibrant piping that attaches to the end of the cat won't fit...are we supposed to take the stock bolts out? If so, how? Or what else is there to do....? Thanks

you cant use the stock cat with the vibrant. you need seperate bolts and a flange to bolt it up to the exhaust.

stock cat's bolts come right off. try using some wd40 on that sucker. heres a pic i managed to snap during the install for my vibrant last friday. its not great but i think you can see that we used the stock bolts to test fit the exhaust.

I had this problem but mines was used and already welded. it wouldnt bolt up right so i had to take it into my shop and have him round out the edges inside the vibrant fitting to make it bolt up. i think thats what you may have to do. it took 100 bones to do it but i got it done right

When I had my Vibrant cat-back installed, we just reused the stock bolts and nuts. Since my car was fairly new and had zero corrosion on it, the nuts came off easily. Remember that the factory uses studs on the end of the cat.

Make sure to use a stainless steel gasket between the cat and the Vibrant cat-back. I had a slight leak because I didn't use one. A Vibrant stainless steel gasket bought from SCTuned took care of that.

I ended up having to file down the inside of the flange connection to the cat and then it slid on there...I didn't put a gasket in between the cat and piping though...anybody else do that?

Almost the whole vibrant team on here used some sort of gasket bro. Mines is a composite foam one which expands.
