The aftermarket short shifters for us all claim to reduce throws by the same amount (22% I think).

I got the TWM short shifter (also got the cable bushings, base bushings, and shift knob). Great quality and great improvement. I would highly recommend this product.

2006-2008 Honda Civic Short Shifters and Shift Knobs - TWM Performance

Haven't had a single problem with the setup and you will feel a good difference...definitely a worthwhile mod IMO. Any more questions, just ask.

TWM is where I got mine from also. Extremely fast shipping. But all of these things do the same thing. You really can't go wrong with any of 'em.

I have a corsport and although I love it..I would never recomend it to anyone. I bought the package with the SS and the bushings. I say go with TWM...here's why...

When you remove your knob, and the whole base to install the short shifter, their is a little blue plastic cap. Everyone here knows what I am talking about. You have to remove the cap, put the short shifter on and then put the cap back on. The thing is, the corsprt shiftr doesnt come with anything to ehlp you. The TWM one does. It comes with a little tool that allows u to remove the blue cap in seconds. Making your life so much easier. The fact they include that alone makes a world of difference on their service in my opinion. I will never recomend corsport SS to anyone based on that alone.

hows that for a honest write-up

edit: I do not know if any other brands come with the tool I am talking about.

Just use an adjustable wrench. Put pressure on the top of the blue cap and press down to wiggle it off. You will figure it out.

its a hunk of metal that goes around your stock shifter. It shortens your THROWS between gears. Their is a huge misconception that everyone thinks it makes your shifter itself shorter. But it doesnt. It shortens the throws, so u can switch between gears quicker.

I have the Comptech (CT-Engineering) short shifter. In thier instructions, they put a little plastic sandwich bag over the blue cap (to catch it) and use a wrench (can't remember the size) to pry it off. I did that and it took all of 30 seconds to get it off. No breakage or anything, and I couldn't be happier with the change in the throw now. I still want to get the base and cable bushings, I'll probably go ahead and get them and install the base now, and wait for the cable for when (if) i decide to swap out the intake.

The base bushings were the most annoying part of my upgrade (awkward location...ended up taking my console apart although it wasn't hard to do). I really like the feel of the TWM bronzoil cable bushings, it's a more solid feel now.

I want to change out the shift lever springs now. Another member posted up about doing this, but I can't find the instructions for it anymore because I think they were on fgcoupe.
