Arrow Help Intake info needed----Dose a Intake Kill your warty?

1.I was thinking of Added a Intake I hear they can add Power? How much power ?

2.Dose adding a Intake kill your Warty? Or if you get a Intake at a Honda Dealer is that
the best way to go?

3.Will your car still pass smog and all the Laws with a Intake?

4.I hear as well that a intake can help with Gas MPG ????

5.Any other info on what you think would be great it is for a 2006 LX Civic Coupe.

Thanks.

1. I'd say about 7 hp
2. No, not necessarily, actaully id say it would be VERY hard to kill your warranty with a CAI unless you hydrolocked
3. I had a non-carb legal CAI on my last car and it passed fine. Howeber I'm sure the Civic CAI's are or will be CARB legal, so yes they are fine for smog and not hard to swap out if not.
4. If it does it is negligable
5. S/C, turbo...I don't know sky is the limit if you got the money...

No, an intake will not help with warts.

Um... And agreed with CaliGuy, except I'd focus on upping the suspension and getting a good set of tires.

but an intake will not void your warranty, they just will not cover your intake, and issues involving air filtering in the engine. But it's not a big deal. There's a federal law that was pass so that no warranty could be voided because a part was changed on the car.

I was at Honda the other day getting my service done and I asked if I got an intake as well as cat back muffler system, would it void my warranty. They told me it wouldn't be an issue unless I got water in the engine.

So I am looking to buy my new parts shortly.

Mods, can we get a sticky/combine of all of the "Does this XYZ Modification void my warranty?" Maybe? I lost count somewhere around 25...

Get one, you'll dig it. I have an AEM CAI on my Coupe. The torque increase off the line is is nice. My mileage is about 32mpg, which is about the same or better than it was before. The install is kind of a headache if you get impatient or nervous. I went slow and took lots of breaks. Worked out fine.
