AEM Filter on K&N SRI?

Hey guys,

Does anyone think it would be possible to use the filter from the AEM short ram on the K&N system? I really like the fact that AEM's doesn't have to be oiled and I'd like the best of both worlds. Thoughts?

K&N makes excellent filters. But I don't see why AEM's dryflow wouldn't work, unless of course it wouldn't PHYSICALLY fit on the piping.

Just make sure you order the right filter and there is no reason it wouldn't work. You just need to get the right inlet size and make sure its no longer the the K&N filter.

Honestly I was beating my head over the whole intake thing when I was in the market, but seriously its an intake! any short ram or cold air will do. Just be sure to take full advantage of the added intake of air, and get a full exhaust to compliment the intake. I have the AEM short ram, no complaints..awesome sound, proven performance ( I dynod at 201 w/ exhaust, and hondata IMG) good luck.

An intake is just an intake, but the AEM DryFlow isn't just any other filter. Unlike all the rest, it doesn't need to be oiled, which means 1) Cleaning is much easier and 2) There's no oil to damage your MAF.

yeah well get the AEM one, and yes having the dry filter element is a HUGE upside to this setup and works well with Si's MAP/MAF setup. I used an oiled filter on my last car which was MAF equipped and the oil clogs up the sensor causing the car to bog or idle rough...so yeah the AEM is the way to go!
